Rosa Maria GRILLO Curriculum
Full Professor of Spanish American Language and Literatures at the University of Salerno. She is member of the Scientific Committee of the Centro Estudios "Mario Benedetti" in Alicante and of the Centro Studi Americanistici "Circolo Amerindiano" in Perugia and Member of the Scientific Committee of their journals ("América sin nombre" and "Thule" respectively) and their publications ("Cuadernos de América sin nombre" and "Quaderni di Thule").
Since 2000 she is coordinator and responsible of the Literature sessions of the yearly conferences organized by Centro Studi Americanistici "Circolo Amerindiano" of Peugia and she annually organizes in Salerno . She coordinates the Latin American narrative collection "A Sud del Rio Grande" (edited by Oédipus) since 2000.
She has published four monographs ("Racconto spagnolo", Salerno 1985, "Exiliado de sí mismo, José Bergamín en Uruguay 1947-1954", Montevideo 1995, whose second enlarged edition was edited by Lleida 1999, "Emigrante/Inmigrado, Una doble identidad en el espejo de la literatura uruguaya", Salerno-Milano 2003, "Escribir la Historia", Alicante 2010) and has also written a lot of essays, published in Italy, France, Spain, United States, Sweden, Ecuador, Colombia, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. She has participated and is participating in some funded PRIN and in particular she was in charge of the Salerno unit of the 2015 PRIN "Testimonial literature in the Cono Sur (1973-2015): new interpretative and didactic models" directed nationally by Emilia Perassi.
Her main research topics are: XIXth and XXth Century Spanish-speaking authors' Historical Novel; Travel Literature; Emigration and Exile Literature between Europe and the Americas; Women's Autobiography; Modernity/Postmodernity discourse; Some Spanish and Spanish American authors: José Bergamín, Mario Benedetti, Horacio Quiroga, Carlos Fuentes, Juan José Saer, María Teresa León, María de la O Lejárrega, Abel Posse, José Enrique Rodó, etc.
