Objectives
The course aims to provide students with the basic elements of the discipline, through the analysis of the historical events of Italian cinema from its origins to the present day, and of their technical, social and spectacular aspects.
Knowledge and understanding:
The student will acquire good knowledge of the world of Italian cinema and will become aware of the relationship that the moving images have established with the world of entertainment and with contemporary society.
Applying knowledge and understanding:
Students will acquire the ability to apply what they have learned in class in order to build their own critical view on cinematic universe, in relation to society and to the forms of contemporary arts.

Contents
THE COURSE AIMS TO PRESENT, FIRSTLY, A PANORAMA OF THE UNIVERSE CINEMA THROUGH LECTURES, SCREENINGS OF AUDIOVISUAL MATERIALS (FICTION AND DOCUMENTARIES), ANALYSIS OF TEXTS AND OTHER MOVIES. ON THIS BASIS, WILL BE STUDIED CHANGE SPECIFIC CINEMATIC THEMES, GENRES, WORKS AND AUTHORS
Teaching Methods
THE COURSE FOCUSES ON THE COMBINATION OF SEVERAL COMPONENTS: THE HISTORICAL, THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL LESSONS, THE VISUAL OF PROJECTIONS, AND COMMENTS, THE STUDY OF TEXTS ADOPTED, THE MEETING WITH SOME INVITED PLAYERS OF ITALIAN CINEMA AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SALERNO.
Verification of learning
THE ORAL EXAM WILL VERIFY KNOWLEDGE OF AUTHORS, WORKS AND ISSUES RELATED TO THE HISTORY OF CINEMA, AS WELL AS THE ABILITY TO PRESENT IN A CLEAR AND CORRECT WHAT HAS BEEN LEARNED.
