GOALS
THE COURSE AIMS TO INTRODUCE THE STUDENT TO THE MODELLING OF BUSINESS ORGANIZATIONS, IT SYSTEMS FOR THE ENTERPRISE AND THEIR APPLICATIONS IN MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIES.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING WILL DEVELOP THROUGH: A) THE USE OF FORMAL LANGUAGES FOR THE REPRESENTATION OF ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURES AND THEIR WORKFLOWS B) THE STUDY OF THE TECHNOLOGIES AVAILABLE FOR THE REPRESENTATION AND USE OF KNOWLEDGE IN A BUSINESS ORGANIZATION.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
AT THE END OF THE COURSE, THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO USE AN ENGINEERING APPROACH TO THE MODELING, ANALYSIS, DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION AND OF SYSTEMS FOR THE KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT OF A BUSINESS ORGANIZATION.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
THE COMMUNICATION SKILLS WILL BE REALIZED THROUGH THE ABILITY TO SHARE WITH THE OTHER MEMBERS OF THE PROJECT TEAM MODELS AND SOFTWARE DOCUMENTS PRODUCED WITHIN A PROJECT AND TO UNDERSTAND THE DOCUMENTATION PRODUCED BY OTHERS. YOU WILL ALSO ACQUIRE THE MASTERY OF MECHANISMS THAT CHARACTERIZE COMMUNICATION WITHIN GROUP PROJECTS, SUCH AS MEETINGS, PROJECT REVIEWS AND PRESENTATION OF THE RESULTS OF THE ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT.

AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT:
STUDENTS ARE GUIDED TO LEARN IN A CRITICAL AND RESPONSIBLE WAY EVERYTHING THAT IS EXPLAINED TO THEM IN THE CLASSROOM AND TO ENRICH THEIR JUDGMENT SKILLS THROUGH THE STUDY OF THE DIDACTIC MATERIAL INDICATED BY THE TEACHER. THE AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT IS ALSO EXPRESSED THROUGH GROUP WORK AND THE COMPARISON WITH THE OTHER MEMBERS OF THE PROJECT TEAM.

ABILITY TO LEARN:
AT THE END OF EACH 2/3 WEEK TRAINING CYCLE, THE STUDENT MUST BE ABLE TO:
- DESCRIBE THE TOPICS LEARNED IN WRITTEN AND / OR ORAL FORM;
- APPLY WHAT HAS BEEN LEARNED TO THE PROJECT ASSIGNED TO HIM.
Prerequisites
THE STUDENTS MUST KNOW THE CONCEPTS RELATED TO ALGORITHMS AND FUNDAMENTAL DATA STRUCTURES AND KNOW HOW TO IMPLEMENT THEM THROUGH PROCEDURAL AND OBJECT-ORIENTED PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES. SKILLS RELATED TO THE BASICS OF THE DATABASES ARE ALSO REQUIRED, AND THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE RELATIONAL MODEL AND OF THE SQL LANGUAGE IS REQUIRED.
Contents
THE COURSE IS DIVIDED INTO THREE BASIC PARTS: 1) INTRODUCTION TO BUSINESS ARCHITECTURE (30 HOURS); 2) ENGINEERING OF BUSINESS PROCESSES (12 HOURS); 3) DEVELOPMENT OF WEB APPLICATIONS FOR BUSINESS MANAGEMENT (LAB: 21 HOURS).

1. INTRODUCTION TO BUSINESS ARCHITECTURE (THEORY HOURS 26 HOURS, EXERCISES HOURS 4)
LAYERED ARCHITECTURE OF THE ARCHIMATE FRAMEWORK: BUSINESS, APPLICATION AND TECHNOLOGY LAYER. ACTIVE, BEHAVIORAL, AND PASSIVE STRUCTURAL CONCEPTS. ORIENTATION AT THE SERVICE OF CORPORATE ARCHITECTURES, COMPANY COLLABORATION.

2. ENGI0EERING OF MANAGEMENT PROCESSES (THEORY15 HOURS, EXERCISES 4 HOURS)
PROCESSES AND ACTIVITIES, MODELING OF BUSINESS PROCESSES IN BPMN. APPLICATIONS TO MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIES: PRODUCTION FACILITIES, PRODUCTION OPERATIONS, PERFORMANCE EVALUATION METRICS, PRODUCTION COSTS. MES AND ERP SYSTEMS.

3. DEVELOPMENT OF WEB APPLICATIONS FOR BUSINESS MANAGEMENT (LAB 21 HOURS)
TECHNOLOGIES FOR DEVELOPING WEB APPLICATIONS IN MVC ARCHITECTURE; HIERARCHICAL ORGANIZATION OF THE SOFTWARE, REUSE OF COMPONENTS.
APPLICATIONS TO MANUFACTURING PLANNING AND CONTROL SYSTEMS.
Teaching Methods
FRONTAL LESSONS (42 HOURS) AND LABORATORY ACTIVITIES (21 HOURS).
THE COURSE INCLUDES THE CONSTANT ATTENDANCE OF STUDENTS AT THE LESSONS. THE STUDENTS WILL BE ORGANIZED IN TEAMS; TO EACH TEAM WILL BE ASSIGNED A PROJECT FOR THE REALIZATION OF AN APPLICATION SOFTWARE THAT USES ADVANCED WEB TECHNOLOGIES.
SOON AFTER THE THEORETICAL LESSONS, PRACTICAL EXERCISES WILL BE PROVIDED TO SIMPLIFY THE ASSIMILATION OF CONCEPTS AND THEIR APPLICATION WITHIN THE ASSIGNED PROJECTS.
Verification of learning
LEARNING ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES WILL START AFTER THE FIRST MONTH OF THE COURSE AND WILL CONTINUE WITH SIGNIFICANT PROJECT MILESTONES.
FINAL TEST.
A) PROJECT DISCUSSION AND PRACTICE ON THE SOFTWARE TOOLS LEARNED (10 POINTS).
B) ORAL QUESTIONS ON THE THEORETICAL CONTENTS OF THE COURSE (20 POINTS).
