Objectives
THE COURSE IS DIVIDED INTO TWO MODULES: THE FIRST ON INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND THE SECOND ON BUSINESS MODELING
THE MODULE ON INFORMATION SYSTEMS AIMS TO INTRODUCE STUDENTS TO BUSINESS INFORMATION SYSTEMS MODELING AND THE USE OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS FOR THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY.
THE SECOND MODULE INTRODUCES STUDENTS TO THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE PHENOMENON OF DIGITAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND THE NOTION OF BUSINESS MODELING, THE LATTER UNDERSTOOD AS A FUNDAMENTAL TOOL FOR DEFINING THE ORGANIZATIONAL AND STRATEGIC SOLUTIONS THAT ENABLE THE COMPANY TO CREATE VALUE AND SURVIVE COMPETITION. THE OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE IS TO TRANSMIT TO STUDENTS THE KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING SKILLS NECESSARY TO ANALYZE DIGITAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP PHENOMENA, WITH PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO THE ANALYSIS OF THE BUSINESS MODEL AND THE UNDERSTANDING OF TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION AS A SOURCE OF ENTREPRENEURIAL OPPORTUNITY.
Prerequisites
STUDENTS SHOULD BE FAMILIAR WITH GENERAL COMPUTER SCIENCE CONCEPTS AND KNOW HOW TO USE INDIVIDUAL PRODUCTIVITY TOOLS.

THE FIRST MODULE TEACHING IS DIVIDED INTO TWO BASIC PARTS: 1) INTRODUCTION TO ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE, 2) INDUSTRIAL SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT

1. INTRODUCTION TO ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE (HRS. LECTURE 14, HRS. EXERCISES 6).

LAYERED ARCHITECTURE OF THE ARCHIMATE FRAMEWORK: BUSINESS, APPLICATION AND TECHNOLOGY LAYERS. ACTIVE, BEHAVIORAL AND PASSIVE STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS. SERVICE ORIENTATION OF ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURES, ENTERPRISE COLLABORATION.

2. INDUSTRIAL SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT (HRS. LZ. 8, HRS. EXERCISES 2).
MANUFACTURING STRUCTURES, MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS, PRODUCTION PROCESS PLANNING, PRODUCTION PLANNING AND CONTROL SYSTEMS. MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY MANAGEMENT SUPPORT SOFTWARE, ENTERPRISE RESOURCE PLANNING (ERP).
INDUSTRIAL INTERNET. DEFINITION OF INDUSTRY 4.0, DIGITIZATION OF PRODUCT AND SERVICE OFFERINGS, DIGITIZATION AND INTEGRATION OF VALUE CHAINS. BUSINESS MODELS BASED ON DIGITIZATION OF BUSINESS PROCESSES.

THE SECOND MODULE DEVELOPS IN THE FOLLOWING CONTENTS
1. INTRODUCTION TO DIGITAL ENTREPRENSHIP (LESSON 4 HOURS)
ANALYSIS OF THE CONCEPT OF DIGITAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP, WITH REFERENCE TO THE DUAL PHENOMENON OF ENTREPRENEURIAL INITIATIVES BORN DIGITAL AND TRADITIONAL ENTREPRENEURIAL INITIATIVES THAT HAVE IMPLEMENTED A DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION.

2. ANALYSIS OF THE CONSTITUENT ELEMENTS FOR THE CREATION OF DIGITAL ENTERPRISES (LESSON 4 HOURS)
IDENTIFICATION OF THE ELEMENTS THAT CHARACTERIZE THE DIGITAL ENTREPRENEURIAL MINDSET. IDENTIFICATION OF THE SET OF RESOURCES AND SKILLS THAT SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES IN THE DIGITAL CONTEXT. ANALYSIS OF THE ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS IN THE PROCESS OF CREATING AND TRANSFORMING A COMPANY IN THE DIGITAL CONTEXT.

3. BUSINESS MODEL (LESSON 3)
INTRODUCTION TO THE BUSINESS MODEL TOOL.

4. DIGITAL BUSINESS MODEL (LESSON 9)
ANALYSIS OF THE DIGITAL INNOVATION PROCESS OF THE BUSINESS MODEL IN TRADITIONAL COMPANIES. ANALYSIS OF THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF DIGITAL BUSINESS MODELS AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE UNDERLYING ELEMENTS (TECHNOLOGY, SOCIAL AND CULTURAL TRENDS, ETC.). IDENTIFICATION OF BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES IN THE DIGITAL MARKET. DEFINITION OF THE KEY ELEMENTS OF A DIGITAL BUSINESS MODEL AND THE NECESSARY STEPS FOR THE DESIGN OF DIGITAL BUSINESS MODELS.

5. SEMINAR ACTIVITIES (4 HOURS)
MEETINGS WITH ENTREPRENEURS AND CONSULTANTS WHO HAVE SUPPORTED THE CREATION OF NEW DIGITAL COMPANIES AND/OR THE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF TRADITIONAL COMPANIES.

6. EXERCISE: ANALYSIS OF CASES (6 HOURS)
AFTER THE THEORETICAL LESSONS, THE STUDENTS WILL BE ORGANIZED INTO WORKING GROUPS AND EACH GROUP WILL BE ASSIGNED CASE STUDIES TO BE ANALYSED, THROUGH THE USE OF THE THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED DURING THE THEORETICAL LESSONS.
Teaching Methods
THE COURSE WILL INVOLVE STUDENTS' CONSTANT ATTENDANCE AT LECTURES. STUDENTS WILL BE ORGANIZED INTO WORKING GROUPS, AND EACH GROUP WILL BE ASSIGNED PROBLEMS REFERRING TO REAL CASES TO SOLVE. FOLLOWING THE THEORETICAL LECTURES, PRACTICAL EXERCISES AIMED AT BETTER ASSIMILATION OF THE CONCEPTS CONVEYED DURING THE LECTURES WILL BE PLANNED.
Verification of learning
LEARNING VERIFICATION ACTIVITIES WILL BEGIN AS EARLY AS AFTER THE FIRST MONTH OF THE COURSE AND WILL CONTINUE AT THE END OF EACH SIGNIFICANT PART OF THE COURSE (DESCRIPTION OF ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURES, PRODUCTION SYSTEMS AND MODELS FOR DIGITIZING BUSINESS PROCESSES).

FINAL EXAMINATION.

A) ORAL TEST ON THE THEORETICAL CONTENT OF THE COURSE (20 POINTS).
(B) PROJECT DISCUSSION AND PRACTICAL TEST ON THE SOFTWARE TOOLS LEARNED DURING THE COURSE (10 POINTS)
