Ileana PAGANI Curriculum

Since 1990 she is full professor (SSDD L-FIL-LET/08) at the University of Salerno and at the University of Florence. Now she is professor of Exegesis of medieval latin texts, Medieval Latin Literature and Medieval History. Since 1996 to 1998 and since 2007 to 2013 she has been Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures of the University of Salerno, and in 1998-99 she was the substitute of the President of the same University. She has been a coordinator and member of Dottorati di ricerca at the University of Florence and Salerno. Since 1978 she has been collaborating to "Medioevo latino. Bollettino bibliografico della cultura europea da Boezio a Erasmo (secoli VI-XV)", by SISMEL – Edizioni del Galluzzo. In Florence she is member of the scientific Committees of the "Società Internazionale per lo studio del Medioevo latino". Moreover she is member at the Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali of the "Edizione nazionale dei testi mediolatini d’Italia", of which she is Secretary Treasurer; and of the "National Edition Scuola medica salernitana". Finally she is member of the scientific Committee of the "Centro Italiano di Studi sul Basso Medioevo" at Todi. Since 2001 to 2013 she has been national coordinator of PRIN "Medioevo latino". She studied the medieval tradition of commentary to Horace and its reflections on the medieval theatrical concept; the theory of language in Dante Alighieri, particularly in De vulgari eloquentia; the Merovingian hagiographic texts; the literary criticism in Latin Middle Ages; the Latin historiography of the XI century in German area, in particular Adam of Bremen's Gesta Hammaburgensis ecclesiae pontificum; the  Letters of Abelard and Eloisa; and the latter’s Hymnarius Paraclitensis and planctus; carolingia historiography, particularly Notker's Gesta Karoli.
