THE ANTONIO GENOVESI CHAIR OF CIVIL ECONOMY HAS BEEN ACTIVATED UNDER A COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE FACULTY OF ECONOMICS, POLITICAL AND SOCIAL SCIENCES AND COMMUNICATION AND THE MUNICIPALITY OF CASTIGLIONE DEL GENOVESI, WITH THE AIM OF PROMOTING THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE CIVIL ECONOMY, OF WHICH ANTONIO GENOVESI WAS THE FOUNDER. CIVIL ECONOMY IS A TRADITIONAL ITALIAN THINKING AND A FORM OF ORGANIZATION OF ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL RELATIONS, BASED ON THE PRINCIPLES OF RECIPROCITY AND FRATERNITY, ALTERNATIVES TO THE EXCHANGE OF EQUIVALENTS OF THE MARKET ECONOMY. ACCORDING TO THIS VIEW THE PRODUCTION OF THE COMMON GOOD REQUIRES FIRMS, NON PROFIT AND PUBLIC ORGANIZATIONS, TO JOINTLY PRODUCE ECONOMIC, BUT ALSO SOCIAL AND HUMAN VALUE. THE CHAIR PROVIDES THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE OF HOW THE ECONOMIC-RELATIONAL PARADIGM OF CIVIL ECONOMY OPERATES IN MARKETS, ORGANIZATIONS AND BUSINESSES. |
