THE COURSE PROVIDES THE CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK AND FUNDAMENTAL METHODS FOR THE UNDERSTANDING OF HOW DIFFERENT HUMAN SOCIETIES MODIFY AND STRUCTURE THE EARTH'S SURFACE IN ORDER TO ENSURE THE FULFILLMENT OF THEIR NEEDS AND THE SOCIAL REPRODUCTION. PARTICULAR ATTENTION WILL BE PAID TO THE GEO-ECONOMIC AND GEO-POLITICAL INTERDEPENDENCIES ESTABLISHED AMONG COUNTRIES AND REGIONS OF THE WORLD, RESULTING IN IMPORTANT INTEGRATION PROCESSES, AS WELL AS TERRITORIAL ASYMMETRIES AND GLOBAL CHALLENGES.
