Objectives
THE PURPOSE OF THIS COURSE IS TO CONSOLIDATE THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE BASIC CONCEPTS PROVIDED IN ORGANIC CHEMISTRY COURSES I AND II AND TO PROVIDE "ADVANCED" KNOWLEDGE OF ORGANIC CHEMISTRY WHICH COMPLETED THE PREVIOUS TWO COURSES. THE COURSE AIMS TO MAKE STUDENTS ABLE TO GRASP THE LOGIC AND COMPLEXITY OF ORGANIC CHEMISTRY. AT THE END OF THE COURSE THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO HAVE A GLOBAL REFERENCE FRAMEWORK FOR THE RESOLUTION OF COMPLEX ORGANIC CHEMISTRY PROBLEMS.
Prerequisites
THE SUBJECTS TREATED IN THE TEACHING REQUIRED THE BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF ORGANIC CHEMISTRY. IT IS NOT FORMAL PROPHETICITY BUT IS ESSENTIAL FOR THE STUDENT WHO WOULD LIKE TO FOLLOW THE COURSE HE HAD PASSED THE ORGANIC CHEMISTRY I AND II.

AFTER AN INTRODUCTION ON BASIC ORGANIC CHEMISTRY AND THE REACTIVITY PRINCIPLES, THE 48 HOUR COURSE (6 CFU) CONCERNES THE FOLLOWING TOPICS:
CHEMISTRY OF SULFUR. THE SULFUR ELEMENT AND ITS ORGANIC DERIVATIVES. STABILIZED SULFUR-ANIONS. SULPHONES AND YLIDES OF SULFUR. SULFUR-CATIONS STABILIZED. TIO-CARBONYL COMPOUNDS. SULFOXIDE. OXIDATION REACTIONS WITH SULFUR.
THE CHEMISTRY OF NITROGEN. AZODERIVATIVES. NITRONES, NITRILOXIDES AND RELATED COMPOUNDS.
THE CHEMISTRY OF ETHROCYCLIC COMPOUNDS: SATURATED AND AROMATIC ETHEROCICLES CONTAINING MORE THAN ONE HETEROATOMS. SUMMARY, REACTIVITY AND APPLICATIONS.
CARBENS AND NITRENES SYNTHESIS AND REACTION OF CARBENS AND NITRENES.
REARRANGEMENTS: GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS AND CLASSIFICATION. NUCLEOPHILIC REARRANGEMENTS: MECHANISM, NATURE OF MIGRATION, MIGRATION ATTITUDE AND MEMORY EFFECT. ELECTROPHILIC REARRANGEMENTS AND RADICALIC REARRANGEMENTS. LOSSEN AND NEBER REARRANGEMENTS. DIENE-PHENOL REARRANGEMENT. BENZYLIC REARRANGEMENT, FRIES, PAYNE, AND FAVORSKII REARRANGEMENTS.
RADICAL REACTIONS: SELECTIVITY IN RADICAL CHAIN CHALLENGES. RADICAL CHAIN CONTROL. INTRAMOLECOLAR RADICAL REACTIONS. HYDROSSILATION TO ALIPHATIC AND AROMATIC CARBON. ALCOOSSILATION AND ACILOSSILATION.
Teaching Methods
TEACHING PROVIDES LESSONS IN THE CLASSROOM FOR THE PERIOD OF 48 HOURS (6 CFUS), WITH THE PROJECTION AUXILIARY.
Verification of learning
ACHIEVEMENT OF THE OBJECTIVES OF TEACHING IS CERTIFIED BY EXAMINATION OF ORAL EXAMINATION WITH TRENTY ASSESSMENT.
THE ORAL TEST AT A QUESTION WITH QUESTIONS AND DISCUSSION ON THE THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL CONTENTS INDICATED IN THE PROGRAM OF LEARNING AND IS FINALIZED TO ASSESS THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND CAPABILITY OF READING BY THE STUDENT AND TO CHECK THE EXPOSURE CAPACITY BY APPLICABLE TO THE APPROPRIATE TERMINOLOGY .
