| KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING The student will learn the functional paradigm, understanding how it can be useful when concurrency and parallelism (in computation) and big data are fundamental. Scala language will be introduced, focusing on its use within Apache Spark framework, whose architecture and goals will be also presented. Scalability of cloud applications will be one of the objectives of the course. APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING The student will be able to design and write simple applications in Scala, using Apache Spark framework in the field of scalable computations. |
