Objectives | |
---|---|
Acquisition of knowledge of the cell organization, the structure and function of cellular organelles, structure and function of the plant cell; elements of plant hystology, anatomy and physiology ; reproduction and ontogenetic cycles. Ability to identify structural and functional differences between a typical animal and plant cell, and to apply the acquired skills to the identification of the morphology of the plants organs.Acquisition and comprehension of essential diagnostic features to identify plants of pharmaceutical, medicinal, liquoristic and cosmetic interest. The acquired knowledge will be applied to the morphological identification of plants and derived herbal drugs. |

Teaching Methods | |
---|---|
PLANT BIOLOGY UNIT LECTURES WILL BE CONDUCTED THROUGH THE AID OF A POWER POINT SUPPORT. IT IS PLANNED TO SHOW PRESENTATIONS FULL OF PICTURES, GRAPHS AND DIAGRAMS THAT ENABLE MAXIMUM UNDERSTANDING AND SYNTHESIS OF THE TOPICS COVERED. THE ATTENDANCE TO THE LECTURES OF THE GENERAL BIOLOGY COURSE IS MANDATORY. THE TEACHER WILL COMMUNICATE THE MODE OF ATTENDANCE CONTROL ON THE FIRST LECTURE OF THE COURSE. STUDENTS WHO FAIL TO SATISFY THE ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT, WILL BE REQUIRED TO ATTEND A SERIAL OF INFORMAL TUTORIALS ACCORDING TO THE TEACHER'S INSTRUCTION. PHARMACEUTICAL BOTANY UNIT THE TEACHING METHOD IS BASED ON LECTURES IN WHICH THE TOPICS OF THE SCHOOLING ARE PRESENTED AND DISCUSSED WITH SLIDES PROJECTED AS GUIDE FOR THE STUDENT AND ON SEMINARS OF MONOGRAPHIC TOPICS. LECTURES WILL BE CONDUCTED THROUGH THE AID OF A POWER POINT SUPPORT. IT IS PLANNED TO SHOW PRESENTATIONS FULL OF PICTURES, GRAPHS AND DIAGRAMS THAT ENABLE MAXIMUM UNDERSTANDING AND SYNTHESIS OF THE TOPICS COVERED. BASED ON ACADEMIC REGULATIONS, THE ATTENDANCE TO THE LESSONS OF PHARMACEUTICAL BOTANY TO BE CONSIDERED MANDATORY, THE PROCEDURES FOR VERIFICATION OF THE FREQUENCY WILL BE COMMUNICATED TO STUDENTS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE LESSONS. |
Verification of learning | |
---|---|
THE EXAMINATION TESTS ARE INTENDED TO ENSURE THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE AIMS OF TEACHING. WRITTEN AND ORAL EXAMINATIONS. WRITTEN TEXT: 30 MULTIPLE CHOISE QUESTIONS (40 MINUTES, NO NEGATIVE MARKS) REGARDING THE MAIN LEARNING OUTCOMES. THE WRITTEN TEST (18/30) IS A PREREQUISITE FOR THE ORAL EXAMINATION THE ASSESSMENT OF THE SUCCESS OF THE PLANNED COURSE INCLUDES AN ORAL EXAMINATION. BY MEANS OF SPECIFIC QUESTIONS, IT WILL BE DETERMINED WHETHER THE STUDENT HAS ACQUIRED GENERAL KNOWLEDGE OF THE COURSE CONTENTS, AND IF THE STUDENT GAINED THE ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND THE FUNCTION OF PLANTS AND HAS THE BASIC SKILLS TO RECOGNIZE AND DESCRIBE THE CELLS AND ORGANS OF THE PLANT . THE STUDENT DISCUSSING THE MAIN TOPICS OF THE COURSE, HAVE TO DEMONSTRATE CRITICAL THOUGHT AND AWARENESS OF THE STRUCTURE OF THE FIELD OF STUDY. |
