THE PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH A THOROUGH GROUNDING THE THEORETICAL PRINCIPLES UNDERLYING THE MOST IMPORTANT METHODOLOGIES USED IN THE BIOCHEMICAL STUDIES. IN AGREEMENT WITH THE DUBLIN DESCRIPTORS, AT THE END OF THE COURSE THE STUDENT WILL DEMONSTRATE: 1. A BASIC KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE THEORETICAL FOUNDATIONS NECESSARY TO IDENTIFY AND CHARACTERIZE THE FUNCTIONAL GROUPS AND/OR BIOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF POTENTIAL BIOLOGICAL AND PHARMACEUTICAL INTEREST. IN PARTICULAR, THE LOGIC OF EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN AND DATA ANALYSIS IS EMPHASIZED; 2. THE ABILITY TO ANALYZE, DISCUSS AND RUN REPORTS ON SIMPLE LABORATORY EXPERIMENTS; 3. AN INDEPENDENT AND CRITICAL ASSESSEMENT OF ANY DIFFERENT EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE PRESENT IN THE COURSE TOPICS; 4. THE ABILITY TO PROPERLY EXPOSE THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED USING THEAPPROPRIATE SCIENTIFIC LANGUAGE; 5. THE ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE IN A CRITICAL MANNER THE TECHNIQUES AND THE ARGUMENTS STUDIED AND TO DESCRIBE THE ARGUMENTS WITH A INTER-DISCIPLINARY APPROACH. |
