Objectives
GENERAL LEARNING OUTCOMES:
THE COURSE AIMS AT PROVIDING STUDENTS WITH THE FUNDAMENTALS OF THE DISCIPLINE THROUGH THE ANALYSIS OF AUTHORS, ACTORS, DIRECTORS AND WORKS, IN REGARD TO THE DYNAMICS OF THE STAGING.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
STUDENTS WILL GAIN KNOWLEDGE OF THE HISTORICAL EVOLUTION OF PLAYWRITING, AND WILL UNDERSTAND HOW A LITERARY TEXT IS TRANSFORMED INTO A DRAMATIC SCRIPT.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
STUDENTS WILL GAIN CRITICAL METHODOLOGIES TO ADDRESS THE ANALYSIS OF A PERFORMANCE, AND TO PRODUCE A SCHOLARLY WORK ON THE MAIN ISSUES RELATED TO DRAMATURGY.

MAKING JUDGMENTS:
STUDENTS WILL DEVELOP CONCEPTUAL TOOLS AND CRITICAL SKILLS FOR AUTONOMOUSLY ANALYZING AND INTERPRETING METHODOLOGICAL AND HISTORICAL ISSUES, SOURCES, MATERIALS AND SPECIFIC LANGUAGES OF THEATRE AS WELL AS OF OTHER ARTISTIC DISCIPLINES.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE THEIR KNOWLEDGE BOTH TO AN AUDIENCE OF EXPERTS AND TO ONE OF NON-SPECIALISTS, WITH PROPERTY OF LANGUAGE AND APPROPRIATE VOCABULARY, AND USING THE MOST APPROPRIATE KIND OF LANGUAGE FOR EACH CIRCUMSTANCE.

STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND AND INTERPRET COMPLEX TEXTS AND USE BIBLIOGRAPHIC TOOLS TO IDENTIFY AND SELECT

TITLE: THE WORK OF THE DRAMATURG.
THE COURSE WILL HIGHLIGHT THE CHANGING RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PAGES AND SCENE WITHIN CERTAIN HISTORICAL PERIODS. WILL EXAMINE THE MOST IMPORTANT DRAMATIC TEXTS OF THE EUROPEAN TRADITION AND WILL FRAME THEM IN THEIR PRODUCTION ENVIRONMENTS: THE GREATEST GREEK TRAGEDIOGRAPHY, THE SEVENTEENTH CENTURY ENGLISH , SPANISH AND FRENCH DRAMA, THE COMMEDIA DELL'ARTE E GOLDONI, THE BOURGEOIS EUROPEAN AND CONTEMPORARY. OF THE TEXTS DISCUSSED WILL BE PROJECTED SOME THEATRICAL OR CINEMATIC ACHIEVEMENTS IN ORDER TO EVALUATE THE CREATIVE CONTRIBUTION OF THE DIRECTOR INTERPRETER “DRAMATURG”.

Verification of learning
THE QUESTIONS WILL ADDRESS THE CONTENT OF THE LESSONS. ATTENDING STUDENTS WILL TAKE A TEST DURING THE COURSE. THE RESULTS OF THE TEST WILL BE DECISIVE FOR THE FINAL EVALUATION. IF (AND WHEN) THE PANDEMIC SITUATION ALLOWS IT, THE TEST WILL TAKE PLACE IN PERSON. OTHERWISE, IT WILL TAKE PLACE ONLINE, ON THE MOODLE PLATFORM.
NON-ATTENDING STUDENTS WILL TAKE AN ORAL EXAM FOCUSED ON THE BIBLIOGRAPHY INTENDED FOR THEM (SEE "TEXTS DI RIFERIMENTO" SECTION) AND A PAPER ABOUT A TOPIC OF THE COURSE AGREED WITH THE PROFESSOR.
