PhD activity involved collaboration with professor Hartmut Hoschinat at Max Plank institute für Biochimie of Munich in 1991 and at European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), Heidelberg, Germany in 1993. From 1997 to 2002 she has been appointed Researcher at University of Salerno, where her research activity was focused on NMR conformational analysis of peptides involved in GPCR transduction, in Alzheimer disease and in Multiple sclerosis. In 2000 she was visiting professor at Leibniz-Institut für Molekulare Pharmakologie (Berlin).
Research activity of prof. D’Ursi is presently focused on:
- Spectroscopic study of b-amyloid peptide interaction with i) membrane mimicking systems ii) molecules able to modulate b-amyloid fibril formation.
- Spectroscopic study of viral-membrane fusion and design of molecules acting as virus entry inhibitors.
- NMR study of interaction of new molecules targeting the farnesyl piriphosphate synthase (FPPS).
