| Topic 1: Characteristics and principles of Funding programs (lecture 3 hours) Topic 2: European Funding programs (lecture 2 hours) Topic 3: Main principle for a good proposal design (lecture 2 hours) Topic 4: Principle of project planning and management (lecture 2 hours; Exercises 1 hour) Topic 5: European project proposal example (Lecture: 3 hours) Topic 6: Writing a short European project proposal (Exercises: 3 hours) Topic 7: Writing a short European project proposal – discussion (Exercises: 2 hours) |

| The course includes 12 hours of lectures, 6 hours of supervised exercises. Lectures and Exercises aimed at acquiring knowledge about how to write and manage a research project for a national and European program. The course also includes a project work, consisting in the writing of a research project for a national program, aimed at acquiring the following applied knowledge and skills: -write a convincing and comprehensive scientific research project proposal; -be able to evaluate and properly describe the goals, work packages, tasks, resources and risks of a research project; -be able to estimate and present the project budget; Attendance to the lectures, exercises and laboratory is mandatory; in order to be admitted to the exam, the student must participate to at least 70% of the hours. |

| The exam consists in a project and an oral interview. The students will be arranged in groups of 2 people, each group must write a project proposal for a national founding program focused on a research topic selected by the students. The oral interview has an approximate duration of 20 minutes, and includes the discussion of the project, aimed at verifying the student’s ability to write a comprehensive and convincing project proposal. |
