Objectives
PROMOTING THE REFLECTION ON THE CONTEMPORARY WORLD, STARTING FROM THE CHANGES OF RELATIONS AMONG STATES, AS WELL AS OF THE SOCIAL LIFE BETWEEN XIX AND XX CENTURY.
AIM OF CONTEMPORARY HISTORY IS ALSO, FOR BOTH NURSERY AND PRIMARY SCHOOL, DEVELOPING THE ABILITY OF FUTURE TEACHERS OF FAMILIARIZING WITH THE MOST COGENT ASPECTS OF THE CONTEMPORARY WORLD (MULTI-ETHNICITY, MULTICULTURALISM, ETC.), PRESENT IN THE ITALIAN SCHOOL.

WITHIN THE EDUCATIONAL OFFER, THE COURSE OF CONTEMPORARY HISTORY AIMS TO MAKE THE STUDENTS ABLE TO CRITICALLY REFLECT ON THE MAIN FEATURES OF THE CONTEMPORARY WORLD, FROM THE MIDDLE XIX CENTURY AND THE FALL OF SOVIET SYSTEM. HISTORY OF ITALY AFTER THE WORLD WAR II WILL BE PARTICULARLY DEEPENED.

- APOGEE AND DECLINE OF EUROPEAN POWERS (CAPS. 5-13, 8 HOURS)
- BETWEEN TO WORLD WARS (CAPS. 14-22, 8 HOURS)
- ITALY AFTER THE WORLD WAR II (MONOGRAPHIC SECTION, 6 HOURS)
- BETWEEN COLD WAR AND DECOLONIZATION (CAPS 23-24, 6 HOURS)
- FALL OF THE SOVIET SYSTEM AND NEW EQUILIBRIA (CAPS. 31-36, 4 HOURS)
- TEACHER AND THE CONTEMPORARY WORLD (2 HOURS)

Teaching Methods
THE COURSE PROVIDES FOR 48 HOURS OF TEACHING (8 CFU), WITH THE FOLLOWING METHODOLOGIES:
- LESSONS ON WIDE SUBJECTS, FOLLOLWED BY DISCUSSION WITH THE STUDENTS;
- READING OF TEXTS, WITH ANALYSIS AND DISCUSSION OF THEIR CONTENTS;
- PROJECTION OF AUDIO-VISUAL MATERIAL
Verification of learning
ORAL TEST ON THE CONTENTS OF THE COURSE (AT LEAST THREE). THE FINAL MARK (MIN. 18, MAX 30, EVENTUALLY CUM LAUDE) IS DETERMINED BY THE VALUE OF THE PERFORMANCE FOR THESE DIMENSIONS OF ORAL EXPOSITION: MASTERY OF CONTENTS, APPROPRIATENESS OF DEFINITIONS AND THEORETICAL REFERENCES, CLARITY OF EXPOSITION AND MASTERY OF SPECIALISED LANGUAGE.
