Lucia CAPORASO Curriculum

Dr. Lucia Caporaso was born in Salerno (ITALY) on November 11, 1969. On July 1987 she obtained the High School "Diploma" at the Liceo Scientifico "E. Fermi" of Battipaglia (Sa). On March 23, 1993 she obtained the "Industrial Chemistry Degree" at the University of Naples "Federico II'', with 110/110 summa cum laude, discussing the thesis: "Synthesis of isotactic polypropylenes with non-conventional Ziegler-Natta catalysts". On the 1996 she received the PhD in Chemistry at the University of Naples ''Federico II'' with a thesis: "Synthesis of polymers and copolymers of alpha-olefin promoted by Ziegler-Natta metallocene systems'. On January 1998 she won a post-doc fellowship on the topic 'Growth and microstructural analysis of nanosized Y2O3 doped with rare-earths' at the University of Verona. From September 1999 to August 2003 she received a research grant by the University of Salerno. From January 2004 she is researcher of Industrial Chemistry at the University of Salerno. The main interests of Dr Lucia Caporaso are reaction mechanisms, prevailingly of polymerization mechanisms, using both computational and experimental approaches. The scientific activity can be summarized as follows: 1) Experimental study of 1-alchene polymerization mechanism promoted by coordination catalysis 2) Synthesis and characterization of block and graft-copolymers 3) Property/structure relationships of poly-1-alchene 4) Computational studies of polymerization mechanisms She is author of 60 publications on international journals of 4 patents and more then 20 communications to national and international meetings.
