Objectives
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING

STUDENTS WILL LEARN THE PRINCIPLES OF PUBLIC SECTOR ORGANIZATION AND THE KEY METHODOLOGICAL TOOLS FOR UNDERSTANDING THE TYPICAL ORGANIZATIONAL DYNAMICS OF PUBLIC SECTOR ENTITIES. THE TEACHING PROVIDES A IN-DEPTH FRAME ABOUT THE MAIN STRUCTURAL CONFIGURATION ADOPTED IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR. MOREOVER, IT WILL PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH THE THEORETICAL AND EMPIRICAL TOOLS FOR GRASPING THE ORGANIZATIONAL DYNAMICS OF PUBLIC SECTOR ENTITIES.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING

STUDENTS WILL DEVELOP A CRITICAL CAPACITY FOR ORGANIZATIONAL ANALYSIS WHICH WILL BE APPLIED TO DESING INNOVATIVE ORGANIZATIONAL SOLUTIONS AND NEW SKILLS FOR MANAGING HUMAN RESOURCES IN PUBLIC SECTOR ORGANIZATIONS. BOTH "HARD" AND "SOFT" ORGANIZATIONAL ISSUES WILL BE EXAMINED.

MAKING JUDGEMENTS

STUDENTS WILL CREATE AND PROMOTE ORGANIZATIONAL MODELS AND SPECIFIC HUMAN RESOURCE POLICIES SUITABLE FOR PUBLIC ADMINISTRATIONS AND PUBLIC SECTOR ENTITIES. THEY WILL ALSO BE ABLE TO CONSOLIDATE KNOWLEDGE AND DEVELOP NEW SKILLS BY CONSULTING CRITICALLY ALL THE SCIENTIFIC OUTPUT PRODUCED IN THE FIELD OF PUBLIC SECTOR ORGANIZATION.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

STUDENTS WILL DEVELOP THE APPROPRIATE SPECIALIZED LANGUAGE SKILLS TO DEAL WITH SPECIFIC ORGANIZATIONAL ISSUES. THE ORGANIZATIONAL JARGON WILL BE IN-DEPTH EXAMINED AND DISCUSSED DURING THE DIFFERENT STAGES OF THE TEACHING.

LEARNING SKILLS

IN LIGHT OF THE THEORETICAL BACKGROUND ACQUIRED DURING THE COURSE, STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO ANALYZE CRITICALLY ORGANIZATIONAL PHENOMENON AND TO SELECT THE MOST APPROPRIATE INTERPRETATIVE KEYS FOR UNDERSTANDING SUCH ISSUES AND FOR HANDLING COMPLEX CASES OF ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR.

Prerequisites
NO PREREQUISITES. BASIC SKILLS IN ORGANIZATIONAL STUDIES ARE USEFUL TO HANDLE THE TOPICS DISCUSSED.
