THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH AN OVERALL VIEW OF THE MAIN SOFT SKILLS NEEDED TO EFFECTIVELY AND EFFICIENTLY FACE THE CURRENT COMPETITIVE INNOVATION CHALLENGES, BOTH IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR AND IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR. ATTENTION WILL BE CONSTANTLY FOCUSED ON GROUP DYNAMICS AND ORGANIZATIONAL INTERDEPENDENCIES, IN LINE WITH THE MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY PATHS IN COMPUTATIONAL INTELLIGENCE & DATA ANALYTICS, IN SECURITY AND AWARENESS. IN ADDITION, STUDENTS WILL EXPLORE THE ISSUES OF DECISION MAKING, BOTH INDIVIDUALLY AND IN THE ORGANIZATION, DISCUSSING THE STAGES OF DECISION-MAKING AND THE BIAS OF CHOICE. THROUGH SIMULATIONS, PROJECT WORK AND GROUP WORK, AN ATTEMPT WILL BE MADE TO ENHANCE THE STUDENTS' ABILITY TO DEVELOP THE SKILLS NECESSARY FOR MANAGING INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS IN A COMPLEX WORK ENVIRONMENT. LEADERSHIP SKILLS AND STYLES, NEGOTIATION SKILLS, TEAM MANAGEMENT SKILLS AND CONFLICT MANAGEMENT WILL REPRESENT THE MAIN AREAS OF APPLICATION OF THE SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE DEVELOPED DURING THE COURSE. SOME SESSIONS WILL BE DEDICATED TO THE INDIVIDUAL ABILITY TO PARTICIPATE IN COMPLEX SELECTION PROCESSES. THE STUDENT WILL BE ENCOURAGED TO PRESENT AND EFFECTIVELY COMMUNICATE RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT TOOLS IN AN ORGANIZATION. IN PARTICULAR, THROUGH ROLE PLAYING AND IN-BASKET SESSIONS, STUDENTS WILL BE IMMERSED IN FICTITIOUS ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXTS, WHICH WILL ALLOW THEM TO EVALUATE AND ENHANCE THEIR COMMUNICATION SKILLS. COMMUNICATION SKILLS, IN PARTICULAR, WILL BE CONTEXTUALIZED TO CONCRETE DECISION-MAKING CONTEXTS, HIGHLIGHTING THE IMPORTANCE OF COMMUNICATION IN RESOLVING THE DYNAMICS OF CHOICE. STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO INDEPENDENTLY EVALUATE THE METHODS OF EXERCISING THE MAIN SKILLS IN MANAGING RELATIONSHIPS. PARTICULAR ATTENTION WILL BE DEVOTED TO THE MANAGEMENT OF ORGANIZATIONAL CONFLICTS AND INTRA-ORGANIZATIONAL INTERDEPENDENCIES. IN ADDITION, A CONTINGENT LOGIC WILL BE DEVELOPED IN THE ANALYSIS OF LEADERSHIP DYNAMICS. THE ABILITY OF THE LEADER TO MAKE DECISIONS THAT INFLUENCE THE BEHAVIOR OF THE FOLLOWERS WILL BE THE OBJECT OF ATTENTION IN MOST OF THE COURSE. |

A MIXED APPROACH WILL BE USED TO DESIGN AND IMPLEMENT TEACHING ACTIVITIES. BEYOND THEORETICAL SESSIONS, WHICH WILL BE BASED ON THE SEMINAR APPROACH, INTERACTIVE LEARNING AND EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING ACTIVITIES WILL BE REALIZED. FROM THIS POINT OF VIEW, STUDENTS WILL BE CONSTANTLY CALLED TO BE INVOLVED IN WORKING GROUPS, TO WHICH SPECIFIC STUDY AND ANALYSIS TASKS WILL BE ATTACHED. THESE ACTIVITIES WILL BE DULY CONTEMPLATED IN EVALUATING OVERALL STUDENTS’ PERFORMANCES. ON THE WHOLE, FRONTAL LESSONS WILL COVER 20 HOURS OF TEACHING ACTIVITY. THE REMAINING 10 HOURS WILL BE ORGANIZED IN INTERACTIVE AND APPLICATIVE SESSIONS, WHICH WILL BE AIMED AT IMPROVING THE STUDENTS’ TRANSVERSAL SKILLS. |

THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE TEACHING TARGET WILL BE ASSESSED IN LIGHT OF THE STUDENTS’ ABILITY TO SUCCEED IN TAKING AN EXAM WHICH IS EVALUATING ON A 30-POINTS BASIS. THE EXAM IS COMPOSED OF TWO SESSIONS. THE FIRST ONE CONCERNS A PROJECT WORK WHICH COULD BE FRAMED EITHER INDIVIDUALLY OR IN WORK GROUPS CONSTITUTED OF A NUMBER OF MEMBERS INCLUDED BETWEEN 3 AND 6 PEOPLE. THE TOPICS OF THE VARIOUS PROJECT WORK WILL BE JOINTLY DEVELOPED BY THE STUDENTS, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE TEACHING STAFF. THE PROJECTS WILL BE DISCUSSED AT THE END OF THE TEACHING ACTIVITIES, IN MAX 20 MINUTES FOR EACH GROUP/PROJECT. DURING THE DISCUSSION, THE STUDENTS WILL SHOW THE STEPS AND THE TOLLS THEY USED IN PLANNING AND DELIVERING THEIR PROJECT ACTIVITIES. ALSO, THEY WILL FOCUS ON THE METHODS USED, THE FINDINGS ACHIEVED AND THE IMPLICATIONS OF THEIR PROJECT. THE DISCUSSION WILL BE SUPPORTED BY POWER POINT SLIDES OR SIMILAR MULTIMEDIA TOOLS. THE TEACHING STAFF WILL ASK ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS TO DEEPEN SOME RELEVANT CONCEPTUAL AND PRACTICAL ISSUES DEALT WITH BY THE STUDENTS. THE SECOND STEP OF THE EXAM CONCERNS AN ORAL TEST, WHICH WILL TAKE 15 MINUTES: IT IS AIMED AT ASSESSING THE LEVELS OF KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE TOPICS DEALT WITH DURING THE EXAM. STUDENTS WILL HAVE TO REPLY TO FOUR QUESTIONS, TWO OF WHICH WILL BE GENERALIST AND TWO SPECIFIC. THE ABILITY TO ANSWER EACH QUESTION WILL BE EVALUATED ON A SCALE FROM 0 TO 5, IN LIGHTS OF THE STUDENTS’ ABILITY TO DEAL WITH THE TOPIC INCLUDED IN THE QUESTION. ON THE WHOLE, THE EXAM ALLOWS TO TEST, BEYOND STUDENTS’ KNOWLEDGE, UNDERSTANDING AND SKILLS, THEIR ABILITY TO MAKE AUTONOMOUS JUDGEMENT AND TO DISCRIMINATE AMONG ALTERNATIVE SOLUTIONS. |
