Fabia GRISI Curriculum
Fabia Grisi was born in Salerno (Italy) in 1970. She obtained a degree in chemistry (cum laude) at the University of Salerno in 1994. After working at the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry of National Research Council in Milano, she received her Ph.D in 1999 for studies on the polymerization of 1-olefins and 1,3-diolefins in the presence of Ziegler-Natta homogeneous catalytic systems. In 1999 she also received a scholarship from Aristech Chemical Corporaton Research- Monroeville, (Pennsylvania-USA) and she worked as researcher in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Salerno, with prof. A. Zambelli as supervisor. Since november 1999 she has been working as assistant professor at the University of Salerno. Her research activity was mainly in the field of stereospecific homogeneous catalysis. This includes the synthesis and characterization of organometallic compounds for the polymerization of insatured hydrocarbon monomers and the elucidation of some aspects of polyinsertion mechanism. Currently, her scientific interest is turned to the synthesis and characterization of Grubbs' second generation catalysts to investigate their reactivity in olefin metathesis such as ring closing metathesis and ring opening metathesis polymerization.
