GENERAL OBJECTIVE THE AIM OF THE COURSE IS THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE MAIN TOPICS AND FIGURES OF THE HISTORY OF CONTEMPORARY PHILOSOPHY. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING THE STUDENT WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO GET ACQUAINTED WITH: THE MAIN SPECULATIVE ORIENTATIONS, SOME THEMES AND FIGURES OF THINKERS THAT CHARACTERIZE THE HISTORY OF CONTEMPORARY PHILOSOPHY; THE MOST IMPORTANT INTERPRETATIVE AND HISTORIOGRAPHICAL PERSPECTIVES; THE MAIN TOOLS OF HISTORIOGRAPHIC INVESTIGATION AIMED AT PROVIDING A WIDE HISTORICAL AND PHILOSOPHICAL KNOWLEDGE; THE CONCEPTUAL AND PHILOSOPHICAL ROOTS AT THE BASIS OF THE HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE CONTEMPORARY THOUGHT. ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING THE STUDY OF THE DISCIPLINE WILL ALLOW THE STUDENTS TO: APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING ACQUIRED DURING THE COURSE THROUGH TEXTUAL READING EXPERIENCES AND THROUGH THE APPROACH TO THE MAIN SCIENTIFIC LITERATURE; TO PLACE THE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE IN BOTH A DIACHRONIC AND A SYNCHRONIC CONTEXT AND TO CONTEXTUALIZE THE DIFFERENT SPECULATIVE FIGURES AND TRADITIONS; USE THE CATEGORIES AND THE SPECIFIC LEXICON OF THE DISCIPLINE, ALSO IN AN INTERDISCIPLINARY DIRECTION. MAKING JUDGEMENTS THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO: RE-ELABORATE THE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AUTONOMOUSLY IN VIEW OF THE MATURATION OF A CRITICAL SPIRIT SELECT AND PROBLEMATIZE THE KNOWLEDGE LEARNED; ACQUIRE THE ABILITY TO CRITICALLY UNDERSTAND THE MEANING OF THE HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT OF THOUGHT, CRITICALLY UNDERSTAND THE SENSE OF THE COMPLEXITY AND THE INTERTWINING OF KNOWLEDGE AND LANGUAGES CRITICALLY UNDERSTAND THE PLURALITY OF DIFFERENT CULTURAL TRADITIONS. COMMUNICATION SKILLS THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO: ORGANIZE AND SYSTEMATIZE THE RESULTS ACHIEVED THROUGH THE USE OF CATEGORIES AND THE APPROPRIATE VOCABULARY; PARTICIPATE IN SEMINARS AND DEBATES ADEQUATELY EXPOSING THEIR POSITIONS ON THE BASIS OF THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED DIALOGUE WITH OTHERS AND RECOGNIZE THEIR REASONS; PARTICIPATE IN GROUP WORK. LEARNING SKILLS THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO: USE A HISTORICAL-CONCEPTUAL "TOOLBOX"; SOLVE PROBLEMS THROUGH APPROPRIATE REASONING AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF A CRITICAL JUDGMENT; SHARE THE RESULTS ACHIEVED WITH A CORRECT ARGUMENTATION AND PRESENTATION; CARRY OUT THEMATIC IN-DEPTH STUDIES. |

THE STUDENTS’ ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE IN A CLEAR AND UNIVOCAL WAY THE AQUIRED CONTENTS AND METHODS WILL BE ASSESSED. |
