Stefania PRAGLIOLA Curriculum

Dr. Stefania Pragliola was born in Formia (Latina), Italy in 1964. She pursued her University education at “Federico II” Naples University, where she received her master in 1993. From 1993 to 1996, she collaborated with the research group of Prof. A. Sirigu benefiting of some fellowships. In 1997 she moved to the Cornell University (Ithaca, New York State), where she worked in the Prof. C. K. Ober group on the synthesis and characterization of new liquid-crystalline polymers via “stable free radical polymerization”. Since 1999 she has been working at University of Salerno in the Prof. P. Longo research group. In 2003, she received her Ph D. degree defending a thesis on the polymerization of conjugated dienes by using Ziegler-Natta homogeneous catalytic systems. Since 2002 she is assistant professor in the Chemistry Department of University of Salerno. The scientific activity of Dr. Pragliola is devoted to the synthesis and characterization of metallocene compounds active in the stereopecific polymerization of alpha-olefins and in the co-polymerization of alpha-olefins with dienes. Her activity is also focused on the studies of homo- and co-polymerization mechanisms.
