Objectives
EXPECTED LEARNING RESULTS AND COMPETENCE TO BE ACQUIRED:
THE COURSE HAS THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING THE BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF THE STRUCTURE AND TECHNOLOGICAL AND USEFUL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE MATERIALS USED IN THE FIELD OF THE BUILDING AND STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THE ACQUISITION OF TECHNICAL SKILLS IN RELATION TO THE CORRECT CHOICE AND MANAGEMENT OF THE MATERIALS USED IN ENGINEERING APPLICATIONS.

LECTURES ARE PROVIDED IN CLASSES IN THE PRESENCE OF STUDENTS.
THE MINIMUM FRACTION OF ATTENDED HOURS OF LECTURES REQUIRED TO TAKE THE EXAM IS 70%.
Verification of learning
THE EVALUATION WILL BE PERFORMED AT THE END OF THE COURSE BY AN ORAL EXAM, INTENDED TO ASSESS THE DEGREE OF KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE TERMINOLOGY USED IN THE MATERIAL TECHNOLOGY, THE METHODS OF BUILDING MATERIALS USE, THE ABILITY TO APPROPRIATELY MOTIVATE THE DESIGN CHOICES IN TERMS OF MATERIALS AND DURABILITY, THE ABILITY TO APPLY THE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE TO DIFFERENT CONTEXTS AND OTHER MATERIALS, THE ABILITY OF EXPOSURE.
THE MARK, EXPRESSED IN A SCALE FROM 18 TO 30 WITH POSSIBLE LAUDE, WILL DEPEND ON THE ACQUIRED MATURITY ON THE CONTENTS OF THE COURSE. FOR THE LAUDE, IT WILL BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT THE QUALITY OF THE EXPOSITION, IN TERMS OF THE USE OF APPROPRIATE SCIENTIFIC LANGUAGE, AND OF THE AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT BEING DEMONSTRATED.
