TO GIVE KNOWLEDGE OF THE PROPERTIES OF ENZYMES, AND OF THE METHODS OF ENANTIOSELECTIVE ORGANIC CATALYSIS BASED ON THE USE OF BIOORGANIC MOLECULES SUCH AS ENZYMES, AMINO ACIDS AND THEIR DERIVATIVES. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: BY THE END OF THE TEACHING THE STUDENT WILL HAVE ACQUIRED EXTENSIVE KNOWLEDGE OF THE MODES OF ACTION OF ENZYMES, AND OF THE MAIN STRATEGIES AND METHODS OF ASYMMETRIC ORGANIC SYNTHESIS BASED ON BIOCATALYSIS AND ORGANOCATALYSIS. APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO APPLY THE KNOWLEDGE TO SOLVE PROBLEMS RELATED TO THE ENANTIOSELECTIVE SYNTHESIS OF ORGANIC MOLECULES. |
Prerequisites | |
---|---|
FUNDAMENTALS OF ORGANIC CHEMISTRY I AND II. |
Contents | |
---|---|
•BASIC NOTIONS OF STEREOCHEMISTRY. •THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE SYNTHESIS OF NON-RACEMIC PRODUCTS. •GENERAL ASPECTS OF THE ENZYMATIC CATALYSIS. MODES OF ACTION OF ENZYMES AND COENZYMES. •APPLICATION OF BIOCATALYSTS IN ASYMMETRIC SYNTHESIS. •ORGANOCATALYSTS DERIVED FROM NATURAL ORGANIC COMPOUNDS AND THEIR APPLICATIONS IN ASYMMETRIC SYNTHESIS. |
