Objectives
THIS COURSE REFERS TO THE HUMAN-COMPUTER INTERACTION (HCI) DISCIPLINE WITH PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO AUGMENTED REALITY THAT, RECENTLY, HAS BEEN CONSIDERED ONE OF THE MAIN TOPICS RELATED TO INDUSTRY 4.0 AND DATA VISUALIZATION.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
THE COURSE AIMS AT PROVIDING STUDENTS WITH AN ENDOWMENT OF KNOWLEDGE RELATED TO HUMAN-COMPUTER INTERACTION (HCI), DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF AUGMENTED REALITY APPLICATIONS AND DATA VISUALIZATION. THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE ON THE USER-CENTERED APPROACHES FOR THE INTERACTION DESIGN.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
THE COURSE WILL PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH PRACTICAL SKILLS RELATED TO THE APPLICATION OF THEORIES AND TECHNIQUES OF HCI AND, IN PARTICULAR, TO THE DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF APPLICATIONS BASED ON AUGMENTED REALITY, ALSO FOR DATA VISUALIZATION. STUDENTS WILL APPLY METHODOLOGIES, TECHNIQUES AND TOOLS FOR REQUIREMENT ELICITATION, BY EMPLOYING THE "PERSONAS-SCENARIOS" APPROACH, AND FOR REALIZING MOCK-UPS AND PROTOTYPES. LASTLY, STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO APPLY USABILITY ENGINEERING TECHNIQUES FOR THE EVALUATION OF USER EXPERIENCES.
Prerequisites
OBJECT-ORIENTED PROGRAMMING

-MODEL RECOGNITION IN UNITY 3D AND VUFORIA
-3D DATA VISUALIZATION IN UNITY 3D AND VUFORIA
Teaching Methods
THE TEACHING ACTIVITIES WILL BE DIVIDED INTO LECTURES AIDED BY MULTIMEDIA MATERIAL (20 HOURS) AND DISCUSSIONS RELATED TO THE DEFINITION OF PROJECT WORK PROPOSALS AND REALIZATION APPROACHES (5 HOURS). ACTIVITY-BASED LEARNING WILL BE THE MAIN EMPLOYED METHOD.
Verification of learning
THE EVALUATION WILL BE CARRIED OUT BY MEANS OF A 40 MINUTES DISCUSSION (FOR EACH STUDENT) ON BOTH ALL THE TOPICS OF THE COURSE AND THE ASSIGNED PROJECT WORK (PRESENTATION AND Q/A SESSION). STUDENTS WILL BE EVALUATED BY USING A SCALE OF 30.
