THE COURSE AIMS TO ACHIEVE 2 OBJECTIVES: 1. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING STUDENTS WILL ANALYSE CONCEPTUAL TOOLS USEFUL TO UNDERSTAND AND MANAGE THE MAIN PROBLEMS THAT CAN AFFECT COMPANIES, AS WELL AS THE BASIC CONCEPTS RELATED TO THE ORIGIN, MANAGEMENT, AND TRANSFORMATIONS OF ORGANISATIONS, APPLYING A SYSTEMIC AND MULTIDISCIPLINARY METHODOLOGY. 2. ABILITY TO APPLY AND UNDERSTAND STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE INSIGHTS ABOUT ENTREPRENEURSHIP, THEY WILL VERIFY AND DEVELOP THEIR ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS AND WILL EXPLORE THEORETICAL AND MANAGERIAL FEATURES NECESSARY TO CARRY OUT ENTREPRENEURIAL ACTIVITIES, LEVERAGING ON CRITICAL THINKING. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING DUBLIN DESCRIPTOR 1: STUDENTS WILL REACH PROFESSIONAL SKILLS, TYPICAL OF THE T TYPE, THAT PUTS TOGETHER AN ADEQUATE ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND THE VARIETY OF PHENOMENA THAT CAN AFFECT BUSINESSES (HORIZONTAL SECTION OF THE T) AND A PARTICULAR PROPENSITY TO DEEPEN THE MANAGERIAL MODELS AND CONCEPTS (VERTICAL SECTION OF THE T). ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING DUBLIN DESCRIPTOR 2: APPLICATION SKILLS STUDENTS WILL LEARN THE METHODS, TECHNIQUES AND TOOLS FOR GENERATING MANAGERIAL EFFECTIVENESS AND EFFICIENCY THROUGH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF MODELS AND THE USE OF METHODS, TECHNIQUES AND OPERATIONAL TOOLS. AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT DUBLIN DESCRIPTOR 3: AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO EVALUATE THE EVOLVING DYNAMICS OF COMPANIES, BOTH AT A CONCEPTUAL LEVEL AND AT A PRACTICAL/SECTOR LEVEL. COMMUNICATION SKILLS DUBLIN DESCRIPTOR 4: COMMUNICATION SKILLS STUDENTS WILL DEVELOP A SPECIFIC LANGUAGE; IN THIS SENSE THEY WILL BE INVOLVED IN CREATING A REPORT AND A CASE STUDY ANALYSIS. LEARNING ABILITY DUBLIN DESCRIPTOR 5: LEARNING ABILITY STUDENTS WILL LEARN KEY FACTOR INVOLVING EFFECTIVENESS AND EFFICIENCY OF A BUSINESS PROJECT AND THEY WILL IMPLEMENT THEM LEVERAGING ON MODELS, METHODS, TECHNIQUES AND OPERATIONAL TOOLS. |

THE COURSE IS DIVIDED INTO FOUR MODULES. FIRST MODULE: ENTERPRISES IN THE SYSTEMIC PERSPECTIVE THE MODULE INTRODUCES THE STUDY OF THE ORGANIZATION IN A SYSTEMIC PERSPECTIVE – VIABLE SYSTEMS APPROACH (VSA) AND SERVICE SCIENCE MANAGEMENT ENGINEERING + DESIGN (SSME+D) –, PROPOSING A NEW MODEL OF INTERPRETATION OF THE EVOLUTIONARY DYNAMICS OF BUSINESS. IN PARTICULAR, WE DEVELOP THE CONCEPTS OF: CREATION AND EVOLUTION OF SYSTEMS THINKING, FORMAL THEORIES, SOCIAL SYSTEMS, ENTERPRISE AS A SYSTEM, DIFFERENT REPRESENTATIONS SYSTEMIC FIRM SECOND MODULE: ENTERPRISES AS VIABLE SYSTEMS THE MODULE SHOWS THE REPRESENTATION OF THE ENTERPRISES AS VIABLE SYSTEMS. THROUGH THE CONCEPTUAL MATRIX OF VIABLE SYSTEMS APPROACH (VSA), IS ABLE TO EXPLAIN, FROM THE LOGICAL AND STRUCTURAL STANDPOINT, THE DEVELOPMENT THAT LEADS FROM THE BUSINESS IDEA TO THE EMERGENCE OF A VIABLE SYSTEM, IN OTHER WORDS, AN ORGANIZATION ABLE TO SURVIVE IN COMPLEX CONTEXTS. IN PARTICULAR, WE DEVELOPE THE CONCEPTS: VIABLE SYSTEM, POSTULATES AND CONCEPTUAL MATRIX VSA BASED, BUSINESS IDEA, ORGANIZATIONAL SCHEME, STRUCTURAL CONFIGURATIONS, EMERGING SYSTEM, DECISIONS AND MANAGEMENT IN VIABLE SYSTEMS. THIRD MODULE: VIABILITY AND SUSTAINABILITY OF SYSTEM ENTERPRISES THE MODULE DESCRIBES “HOW” VALUES AND ATTITUDES OF DECISION MAKERS AND COMMUNICATION AFFECT THE SUSTAINABLE CHOICES IN COMPLEX CONTEXTS. WE ANALYZE SOME TYPICAL TECHNIQUES OF “KNOWLEDGE” AND MANAGERIAL CAPACITY TO CREATE A SYSTEM IN COMMUNICATION VIEW. IN PARTICULAR, WE DEVELOPE THE CONCEPTS OF: ENVIRONMENT AND CONTEXT, BUSINESS SUSTAINABILITY, DECISION MAKING, PROBLEM SOLVING, HARMONY, RESONANCE, CHAOS, ABDUCTION, COMPLEXITY, INDUCTION, COMPLICATION, DEDUCTION, CERTAINTY. METHOD OF THE EXAMINATION: THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE IS CERTIFIED BY AN EXAM WITH AN EVALUATION OUT OF THIRTY POINTS (FROM 18 TO 30). THE EXAM INCLUDES A WRITTEN TEST AND AN ORAL EXAMINATION THAT CAN TAKE PLACE ON DIFFERENT DAYS (THE WRITTEN TEST IS PREPARATORY TO THE ORAL TEST), EACH PART OF THE EXAM IS EVALUATED OUT OF THIRTY POINTS, WITH A MINIMUM MARK OF 18/30. THE FINAL MARK IS GIVEN BY THE ARITHMETICAL MEAN OF THE MARKS OBTAINED IN EACH PART OF THE EXAM. WRITTEN TEST THE WRITTEN TEST, LASTING AN HOUR AND A HALF, IS AIMED AT ASCERTAINING, IN A TRANSPARENT AND OBJECTIVE WAY, THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING ACHIEVED BY THE STUDENT ON THE THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL CONTENTS HIGHLIGHTED IN THE PROGRAM. THIS TEST IS MADE UP OF 20 MULTIPLE CHOICE AND 2 OPEN-ENDED QUESTIONS; EACH MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTION HAS A VALUE OF 1 WHILE THE OPEN ANSWER HAS A VALUE OF 2 POINTS. SINCE THESE ARE MULTIPLE ANSWERS, IT IS SUFFICIENT TO INDICATE ONE, CROSSING THE ONE THAT IS CONSIDERED CORRECT BASED ON THE STUDENT’S KNOWLEDGE. THE SECOND PART IS DEDICATED TO TWO OPEN-ENDED QUESTIONS, FOCUSED ON EXPLORING BUSINESS ISSUES AND EVOLUTIONARY DYNAMICS. THE QUESTIONS ARE SIMILAR TO THOSE PROPOSED DURING IN CLASS LESSONS. THE OBJECTIVE OF THE WRITTEN EXAMINATION IS TO VERIFY THE OVERALL KNOWLEDGE OF THE PROPOSED PROGRAM. ORAL EXAM THE ORAL TEST, THAT IS COMMONLY SUSTAINED BY STUDENTS THAT ATTENDED THE LESSONS AND STUDENTS THAT DO NOT ATTEND THE LESSONS, LASTS ABOUT 20 MINUTES AND CONSISTS OF AN ORAL EXAMINATION, WITH QUESTIONS AND DISCUSSION THAT AIM TO BETTER VERIFY THE LEARNING OUTCOMES ACHIEVED BY INDIVIDUALS. IN THIS WAY, THE DEGREE OF KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING ACHIEVED BY STUDENTS IS ASCERTAINED. |
