Objectives
THE COURSE IS AIMED AT THE ACQUISITION OF TECHNICAL AND INSTRUMENTAL KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE BASIC PRINCIPLES OF PHARMACY MANAGEMENT, USEFUL FOR THE ADOPTION OF A STRATEGIC AND RELATIONAL APPROACH THAT ENHANCES THE KEY ROLE OF THE PHARMACY IN THE DRUG SUPPLY CHAIN AND IN THE HEALTH SYSTEM AS AN INTERFACE BETWEEN DOCTOR, PATIENT AND ORGANIZATIONS OF THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM.
BY APPLYING THE SKILLS ACQUIRED, THE STUDENT MUST BE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATE MANAGEMENT SKILLS THAT COMBINE ECONOMIC AND BUSINESS NEEDS OF BALANCE AND PERFORMANCE AND SERVICE SOCIAL FUNCTION IN A SOCIO-ECONOMIC PERSPECTIVE OF EFFECTIVE, EFFICIENT AND SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT OF PRODUCTION, DISTRIBUTION AND SERVICE ACTIVITIES OF THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM.

THE COURSE IS COMPOSED BY TWO PARTS (40 HOURS FOR 5 CFU): PART I – STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT AND HEALTH GOVERNANCE ASPECTS OF PHARMACY (20 HOURS) AND PART II – PHARMACY MANAGEMENT (20 HOURS).
BY ADOPTING AN APPROACH AIMED AT INTRODUCING LEARNERS TO LANGUAGE AND BUSINESS-MANAGERIAL PERSPECTIVES, WIT THE PURPOSE OF HIGHLIGHTING THE IMPORTANCE OF MANAGEMENT IN THE HEALTHCARE CONTEXT AND, IN PARTICULAR, IN THE MANAGEMENT OF THE PHARMACY AND THE CONTRIBUTION OF MANAGEMENT TO THE PHARMACIST'S PROFESSIONAL VALORISATION, THE COURSE WILL COVER THE FOLLOWING TOPICS:

PART I – STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT AND GOVERNANCE OF PHARMACY (20 HOURS)
THE OPERATIVE CONTEXT OF THE PHARMACY: HEALTHCARE SYSTEM AND NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE. THE CARE OF HEALTH THROUGH THE TARGETS OF EFFECTIVENESS, EFFICIENCY, AND SUSTAINABILITY (2 HOURS).
- PHARMACIST AS A HEALTH PROFESSIONAL AND AS AN ENTREPRENEUR (2 HOURS).
PHARMACY BUSINESS: GOVERNMENT AND MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS (2 HOURS).
PHARMACY IN THE CONTEXT OF NATIONAL HEALTHCARE SERVICE AND IN THE MARKET. TYPOLOGIES AND FORMAT - HOSPITAL PHARMACY: PECULIARITIES (2 HOURS).
PHARMACY IN THE DRUG SUPPLY CHAIN (2 HOURS).
PHARMACY IN THE CONTEXT OF MODERN DISTRIBUTION AND THE COMPETITIVE VALORIZATION OF THE PHARMACIST AS HEALTH PROFESSIONAL IN THE TRIAD DOCTOR-PHARMACIST-PATIENT (2 HOURS).
COMPETITIVENESS, DEVELOPMENT AND NETWORKING (2 HOURS).
THE SERVICES PHARMACY IN THE SOCIO-SANITARY INTEGRATION AND THE PHARMACY RELATIONAL MANAGEMENT IN A SERVICE-VIEW (2 HOURS).
INNOVATION, ICT AND NEW FRONTIERS IN PHARMACY MANAGEMENT (2 HOURS).
ELEMENTS OF PHARMACOECONOMICS AND HEALTH TECHNOLOGY ASSESSMENT (2 ORE)

PART II – PHARMACY MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES AND TOOLS (20 HOURS)
-THE BUSINESS MANAGEMENT OF THE PHARMACY (2 HOURS)
-PHARMACY MARKETING: FROM THE RELATIONAL APPROACH TO THE PHARMACY RETAILING MIX (4 HOURS)
-ASSORTMENT, CATEGORY MANAGEMENT, SPACE MANAGEMENT AND VISUAL MERCHANDISING (2 HOURS)
-LOGISTICS, PROCUREMENT AND INVENTORY MANAGEMENT (2 HOURS)
-PRICING POLICIES (2 HOURS)
-COMMUNICATION POLICIES (2 HOURS)
-HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT (2 HOURS)
-ELEMENTS OF PLANNING, ADMINISTRATION AND CONTROL (2 HOURS)
- TECHNICS AND TOOLS OF E-PHARMACY (2 ORE)
Teaching Methods
THE TEACHING IS DIVIDED INTO 40 HOURS (5 CFUS) DIVIDED BETWEEN FRONTAL LECTURES, EXERCISES, SEMINARS AND COMPANY VISITS AS FOLLOWS:
- FRONTAL LECTURES (28 HOURS)
- EXERCISES, REAL CASE STUDIES, AND SIMULATIONS (6 HOURS)
- SEMINARS AND ON FIELD VISITS (6 HOURS).
Verification of learning
THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE LEARNING OBJECTIVES IS CERTIFIED BY PASSING AN ORAL EXAM. DURING THE COURSE, TO THE AIM OF VERIFYING THE PROGRESSIVE ACQUISITION OF KNOWLEDGE, TWO TESTS CAN BE CONDUCTED BASED ON MULTIPLE-CHOICE AND/OR OPEN ANSWER QUESTIONS. THE POSITIVE OUTCOME OF THE INDIVIDUAL TESTS CAN PROVIDE A BASIS FOR THE FINAL EVALUATION THAT WILL BE DETERMINED UPON PASSING THE ORAL EXAM ON THE TOPICS DEALT WITH DURING THE COURSE.
THE ORAL EXAMINATION CONSISTS OF QUESTIONS AND DISCUSSION ON THE THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL CONTENTS DEVELOPED DURING THE LESSONS AND IS AIMED AT VERIFYING THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING ACQUIRED BY THE STUDENT, AS WELL AS TESTING THE EXPOSITION CAPACITY USING AN APPROPRIATE LANGUAGE, AND THE ABILITY TO AUTONOMOUSLY ORGANIZE THE DISCUSSION ON THE SAME TOPICS.
THE ORAL EXAM CAN BE SUPPORTED BY THE DISCUSSION OF A TECHNICAL WORK IN THE FORM OF A PROJECT WORK PRODUCED BY THE STUDENT EITHER AUTONOMOUSLY OR IN A GROUP ON A PROBLEM OR CASE STUDY AGREED UPON WITH THE TEACHER
