Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE A CRITICALLY ASSESSED KNOWLEDGE OF RECENT MODELS, TRENDS AND METHODOLOGIES OF TEACHING THE LATIN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE, IN ORDER TO INTERPRET AND TEACH THE LATIN LITERARY TEXTS.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
THE STUDENT:
- WILL KNOW THE DISCIPLINARY FOUNDATIONS OF THE TEACHING OF THE LATIN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE;
- WILL UNDERSTAND THE MAIN AND MOST UP-TO-DATE METHODOLOGIES FOR TEACHING THE LATIN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- MASTER THE SPECIALIZED RESEARCH TOOLS (PAPER AND DIGITAL) ABOUT THE LATIN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE;
- USE THE AFOREMENTIONED TOOLS IN THE STUDY AND TEACHING OF THE LATIN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE;
- SET UP EDUCATIONAL PATHS RELATING TO THE LATIN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE.

MAKING JUDGEMENTS
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- EVALUATE A TEACHING METHOD;
- DISCERN THE CONSTITUTIVE ELEMENTS OF A DIDACTIC PATH;
- SELECT THE MAIN SUBJECTS AND ASPECTS OF AN EDUCATIONAL PATH.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- ADEQUATELY ILLUSTRATE AN EDUCATIONAL PATH;
- REPRESENT AND COMMUNICATE, THROUGH TEXTS OR VIRTUAL TOOLS, THE RESULTS OF HIS RESEARCH AND ORIGINAL DIDACTIC PATHS;
- TALK ABOUT TOPICS RELATED TO THE TEACHING OF THE LATIN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE, MAKING USE OF ADEQUATE CRITICAL TERMINOLOGY.

LEARNING SKILLS
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- USE TRADITIONAL BIBLIOGRAPHIC TOOLS AND IT RESOURCES;
- CARRY OUT RESEARCH ACTIVITIES, UNDERSTAND AND INTERPRET COMPLEX LITERARY TEXTS.
- PROCEED WITH THE CONTINUOUS UPDATING OF HIS KNOWLEDGE, USING THE TECHNICAL AND SCIENTIFIC LITERATURE.

Contents
THE COURSE WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE SECOND SEMESTER OF THE SECOND YEAR AND WILL BE STRUCTURED AS FOLLOWS:

FOR A DIDACTICS OF THE LATIN POETIC LANGUAGE:
HORACE'S LOVE LYRIC

2)
LATIN LITERATURE IN RECENT HIGH SCHOOL TEXTBOOKS: THE REPUBLICAN AGE
Teaching Methods
LESSONS ARE FACE-TO-FACE, DIALOGUED OR WORKSHOP-BASED.
THE LATIN LITERARY TEXTS PROVIDED BY THE PROGRAM ARE READ, TRANSLATED AND COMMENTED BY THE TEACHER. DURING THE LECTURE THE TEACHER IS CONSTANTLY CONCERNED TO STIMULATE STUDENTS' REFLECTION ON ALL ASPECTS (CONTENT AND FORMAL ASPECTS) OF THE TEXTS READ AND THE PROBLEMS THAT THEY POSE.
Verification of learning
THE EXAM PREVENTS THE EVALUATION OF AN ORAL FINAL EVIDENCE, EVENTUALLY INCLUDING THE PRESENTATION OF A PROJECT WORK OPPORTUNATELY DEVELOPED WITHIN THE COURSE, DURING WHICH THE STUDENTS SHOULD DEMONSTRATE THE CRITICALLY ACQUIRED MAIN DISCIPLINARY CONTENTS AND HOW TO APPLY THEM IN RELATION TO DIDACTICS OF LATIN.
