Professor of Experimental Physics at University of Salerno, Department of Physics “E. R. Caianiello”.Graduated in Physics, cum Laude, at the University of Palermo with a thesis: “A study of heavy flavoured baryons production mechanisms in high energies proton-proton interactions”.Research activity: High Energy Sub-Nuclear Physics, Instrumentation for Nuclear Physics and Applied Physics. He has been operating, all along his career, in important European laboratories as CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research, Geneva, CH), DESY (Deutsches Elektronen Synchrotron, Hamburg, Germany) and LNGS (Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso of INFN, L’Aquila, Italy).Member of ZEUS (DESY, Hamburg, Germany), LVD (LNGS, Gran Sasso, Italy) and ALICE (CERN, Geneva, Switzerland) Collaborations.Responsible of the Gruppo Collegato di Salerno of Italian Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN)Member of the Council of the Italian Physical Society (SIF) and referee of many international journalsResponsible of the Salerno sub-nuclear physics Group participating to ALICE Experiment (CERN) and member of the Board of ALICE International Scientific Collaboration.CERN associate since 1986.He is author and co-author of more than 350 scientific papers on peer-reviewed international journals on topics as nuclear and sub-nuclear physics, applied physics and instrumentation and techniques for nuclear physics.
