Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE KNOWLEDGE ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF CIVILIZATIONS AND CULTURES OF THE MEDITERRANEAN WORLD AND ON THE HISTORICAL PROCESSES THAT OCCURRED DURING THE MEDIEVAL AGE, WITH PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO THE TRACES LEFT BY THESE PROCESSES ON THE TERRITORY AND TO CULTURAL LEGACIES.
EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES:
- KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: KNOWING IN DEPTH THE HISTORICAL PROCESSES OF THE MEDIEVAL AGE AND THE METHODS OF HISTORIOGRAPHICAL RESEARCH ON THEM
- ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: BEING ABLE TO MAKE USE OF THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED IN FUNCTIONAL WAYS TO BUILD RESEARCH PRACTICES ON CULTURES AND TERRITORY
Prerequisites
THE TEACHING IMPROVES KNOWLEDGES AND ABILITIES THAT THE STUDENTS ALREADY ACQUIRED IN THE FORMER STUDIES IN THE SAME FIELD. IT IS SUPPOSED THAT STUDENTS ARE ALREADY ACQUAINTED WITH THE BASIC ELEMENTS OF THE DISCIPLINE.

PLAYING IN THE MIDDLE AGES.
THE COURSE AIMS TO DEFINE THE CONCEPT OF LUDUS IN THE CULTURE OF THE MIDDLE AGES AND TO ANALYZE THE DIFFERENT LUDIC PRACTICES TRACEABLE IN THAT HISTORICAL ERA AND THE SPACE THAT THEY OCCUPIED IN THE LIFE OF THE INDIVIDUAL AND OF SOCIETIES AS A WHOLE.


Teaching Methods
-LESSONS WITH WIDE CONTENTS, WITH A FINAL DISCUSSION ON THE CENTRAL TOPICS OF THE LESSON.
-LECTURES BASED ON TEXTS, WITH THEIR ANALYSIS AND DISCUSSION BY STUDENTS.
Verification of learning
THE FINAL ORAL PROOF IS BASED ON QUESTIONS CONCERNING THE ISSUES ON WHICH STUDENTS CAN FIND A SUFFICIENT INFORMATION IN THE BOOKS AND THE OTHER MATERIALS OFFERED BY THE TEACHER. THE WHOLE PROOF WILL BE EXTENDED SO LONG AS NECESSARY FOR ASCERTAINING NOT ONLY THE STUDENT’S KNOWLEDGE OF THE CONTENTS, BUT ALSO HER/HIS ABILITY TO EXPRESS THEM CORRECTLY. OTHER PROOFS MAY BE EVENTUALLY INTRODUCED IN ORDER OF MAKING EASIER THE FINAL PROOF
