Objectives
TEACHING INTRODUCES STUDENTS TO ORGANIZATIONAL THEORY, ANALYZED IN LIGHT OF THE CURRENT ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL CONTEXT.
STUDENTS WILL BE PROVIDED WITH THE ELEMENTS NEEDED TO ANALYZE AND UNDERSTAND ORGANIZATIONAL PHENOMENICS IN COMPLEX ORGANIZATIONS.
ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING.
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE OF ORGANIZATIONAL ANALYSIS AND DESIGN TO ALL TYPES OF BUSINESSES, PROFIT AND NONPROFIT. THEY WILL ALSO BE REQUIRED TO CONFRONT REAL-WORLD PROBLEMS AND INTERACT, BOTH WITH EACH OTHER AND WITH THE INSTRUCTOR, DURING SPECIAL PROBLEM SOLVING LEARNING SESSIONS.

Teaching Methods
A MIXED APPROACH WILL BE USED TO DESIGN AND IMPLEMENT TEACHING ACTIVITIES. BEYOND THEORETICAL SESSIONS, WHICH WILL BE BASED ON THE SEMINAR APPROACH, INTERACTIVE LEARNING AND EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING ACTIVITIES WILL BE REALIZED. FROM THIS POINT OF VIEW, STUDENTS WILL BE CONSTANTLY CALLED TO BE INVOLVED IN WORKING GROUPS, TO WHICH SPECIFIC STUDY AND ANALYSIS TASKS WILL BE ATTACHED. IN THAT LEARNING CONTEXT THEY WILL DEVELOP THE ABILITY OF ORGANIZATIONAL DIAGNOSIS.
TEACHING DOES NOT REQUIRE ATTENDANCE.
PARTICIPATION IN FACE-TO-FACE TEACHING IS STRICTLY RECOMMENDED.
Verification of learning
THE VERIFICATION OF LEARNING WILL TAKE PLACE THROUGH AN ORAL EXAMINATION OF ABOUT 15 MINUTES' DURATION. THE LATTER WILL CONSIST OF 5 QUESTIONS (3 GENERAL AND 2 SPECIFIC QUESTIONS).
GENERAL QUESTIONS ARE AIMED AT VERIFYING THE SOLIDITY OF THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE APPRECIATED, AND, IN PARTICULAR, THE ABILITY TO READ AND INTERPRET ORGANIZATIONAL PHENOMENA.
THE SPECIFIC QUESTIONS, ON THE OTHER HAND, ARE AIMED AT TESTING THE ABILITY TO APPLY THEORETICAL MODELS AND CONCEPTS TO COMPLEX ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXTS.
THE MINIMUM SCORE IN THE ORAL EXAMINATION INVOLVES KNOWLEDGE OF THE
FOLLOWING THEMES: IDENTITY AND VALUES, GROUP, MOTIVATION, DECISION-MAKING, LEADERSHIP, ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURES, CULTURE.
HONOURS WILL BE AWARDED TO STUDENTS WHO DEMONSTRATE OUTSTANDING CRITICAL ANALYSIS SKILLS AND MATURITY IN THE INTERPRETATION THE ORGANIZATIONAL COMPLEXITY IN THE VICA SCENARIO.
