EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES: THIS SUBJECT AIMS AT INTRODUCING TO STUDENTS ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR UNDER A QUANTITATIVE APPROACH. IT IMPARTS TO STUDENT CONCEPT AND THEORIES TO EMPIRICALLY SUBSTANTIATE USING DATA RELATED TO THE PRIVATE ENTERPRISES. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING. THE FIRST STEP IS ABOUT THE MAIN THEORETICAL FRAMEWORKS IN THE FIELD DRAWN FROM A SELECTION OF INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC JOURNALS. THE OBJECTIVE IS TO INTRODUCE STUDENTS TO THE MOST UP-TO-DATE ISSUES IN THE FIELD TO LEAD THEM TO THEIR OWN RESEARCH IDEAS. THEN THEY WILL PROVIDE WITH SELECTED SURVEYS AND AT THE SAME TIME, THEY WILL BE ENCOURAGED IN DEVELOPING THEIR OWN DATABASES. FINALLY, THEY WILL PREPARE A REPORT THAT WILL BE EVALUATED AS THE FINAL TEST MAKING JUDGMENTS I)UNDERSTAND THE ELEMENTARY CONCEPTS AND TECHNIQUES OF BUSINESS RESEARCH METHODS, II)UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPTS OF POPULATIONS AND SAMPLES AND THE USE OF DESCRIPTIVE STATISTICAL TOOLS FOR POPULATION AND SAMPLE DESCRIPTION. COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS IMPROVE A TECHNICAL LANGUAGE USEFUL TO EXPLAIN RESULTS AND TO "SPEAK" PROFESSIONALLY LEARNING SKILLS TO USE DESCRIPTIVE STATISTICS TO CATEGORIZE AND DESCRIBE THE SHAPES OF DATA DISTRIBUTIONS SELECT AND APPLY APPROPRIATE TECHNIQUES INTERPRET AND EVALUATE THE RESULTS OF THE DATA IN THE CONTEXT OF A RESEARCH IDEA DEVELOP ANALYTICAL SKILLS IN APPLYING A SCIENTIFIC APPROACH TO FACE RESEARCH IDEA IN THE ORGANIZATIONAL FIELD |

EXAMINATION MODALITY: WRITING OF A REPORT AND PRESENTATION OF RESULTS DURING A PLENARY SESSION AND AN ORAL EXAMINATION |

THE EXAMINATION SHALL CONSIT OF A REPORT WHICH HAS TO BE SUPPLEMENTED BY AN ORAL EXAMINTATION . F OR ACHIEVING THE LEARNING TARGETS IT IS NECESSARY TO WRITE A FINAL REPORT THAT WILL BE DEVELOPED DURING THE WHOLE COURSE AND WILL BE EVALUATED THROUGH A 30-POINT SCALE, SIMPLY DIVIDED IN TWO: NON PASSING (0 TO 17), AND PASSING GRADES (18 TO 30 CUM LAUDE) . A SUCCESSFULL COMPLETION OF REPORT IS CONDITION REQUIRED FOR REACHING THE ORAL STAGE. EACH OF THE TWO STAGE CAN BE PASSED WITH A MINIMUM OF 18/30. THE FINAL GRADE IS SIMPLY THE AVERAGE OF THE TWO PARTIAL RESULTS. THE REPORT , WILL BE DEVELOPED DURING THE WHOLE COURSE IS AIMED AT DETERMINING IN A CLEAR AND UNAMBIGUOUS MANNER THE STUDENTS’ KNOWLEDGE AND THE ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND BOTH THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL CONTENTS AS TARGETED IN THE PROGRAMME. MOREOVER, IT VERIFIES HOW THE STUDENTS CAN APPLY THE THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE. THIS EXAMINATION WOULD BE OF A TEST GROUP , WHERE STUDENTS ARE DIVIDED IN GROUPS OF FOUR-FIVE USING THEIR NAMES IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER. THEY CAN CHOOSE BETWEEN A SET OF TOPICS DISCUSSED DURING THE LESSONS OR SHOWN DURING THE OFFICE HOURS. THESE ARE A DEEPENING OR AN UPDATE OF A WIDER TOPIC USUALLY OBJECT OF THE ORAL EXAMINATION. STUDENTS ARE ASKED TO REPORT ABOUT ONE OF THE TOPICS OF NO MORE THAN 20 PAGES: DATA, SCIENTIFIC PAPERS AND NEWS PAPER WILL BE DISTRIBUTED AS SUPPORT BUR A PECULIAR DATABASE IS PREFERRED. THE ORAL EXAMINATION, LASTING APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES,CONSISTS OF AN INTERVIEW AIMED AT VERIFY THE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE MAIN TOPICS OF THE TEXTBOOKS AND OF FURTHER HANDOUTS. IN THIS WAY ONE CAN TEST STUDENTS’ KNOWLEGE AND ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND ACHIEVED, AND , AT THE SAME TIME, THE EXPERTISE IN THE FIELD. |
