THE TEACHING AIMS TO ACQUIRE A BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF THE FUNDAMENTALS OF CHEMISTRY AND BIOCHEMISTRY BY IDENTIFYING CONTEXTS AND ISSUES RELATED TO MOTOR-SPORTS ENVIRONMENTS. IT IS PART OF THE OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF THE DEGREE PROGRAM, WHICH IS TO TRAIN A PROFESSIONAL FIGURE WITH EXPERTISE IN THE FIELD OF MOTOR-SPORTS SCIENCES AND ACTIVITIES WITH A FOCUS ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE ENVIRONMENT AND SPORTS WELL-BEING. THE COURSE PROVIDES: - THE BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF CHEMISTRY AND BIOCHEMISTRY; - ENVIRONMENTAL RISK ASSESSMENT AND THE MAJOR RELATIONSHIPS THAT OCCUR BETWEEN EXPOSURES TO ENVIRONMENTAL CONTAMINANTS AND POTENTIAL EXPOSURE RISKS; - THE CHEMICAL AND PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS THAT ENSURE THE WELL-BEING OF ATHLETES IN INDOOR AND OUTDOOR ENVIRONMENTS; THE TEACHING ENABLES THE STUDENT TO: - ADDRESS ISSUES RELATED TO THE ASSESSMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS AND THEIR MANAGEMENT WITH A VIEW TO IMPROVING SPORTS ENVIRONMENTS FOR THE WELL-BEING OF ATHLETES; - DEAL WITH THE PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH THE MAIN AREAS OF INTEREST IN MOTOR-SPORTS ENVIRONMENTS; - KNOW HOW TO COMBINE THEORY AND OPERATIONAL PRACTICE, IN THE APPLICATION OF THE DIFFERENT KNOWLEDGE OF CHEMISTRY AND ENVIRONMENTAL CHEMISTRY AND ENHANCEMENT OF SPORTS PERFORMANCE. THE COURSE AIMS TO ENABLE THE STUDENT TO KNOW AND UNDERSTAND THE MAIN CONCEPTS BEHIND CHEMISTRY AND BIOCHEMISTRY AS APPLIED TO MOTOR-SPORT CONTEXTS THAT ENSURE THE WELL-BEING OF THE ATHLETE IN DIFFERENT ENVIRONMENTS. IN PARTICULAR, THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO RECOGNIZE AND EVALUATE DIFFERENT ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS, SUGGESTING INITIATIVES AND SOLUTIONS FOR EFFECTIVE AND SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT. THE COURSE WILL ENABLE THE STUDENT TO INTERACT WITH SPECIALIST AND NON-SPECIALIST INTERLOCUTORS WITH REGARD TO KNOWLEDGE OF THE BASICS OF CHEMISTRY AND BIOCHEMISTRY NECESSARY FOR THE UNDERSTANDING AND MANAGEMENT OF SPORT-MOTOR ENVIRONMENTS BOTH WITH REGARD TO THEORETICAL ASPECTS AND PRACTICAL/APPLICATIVE ASSUMPTIONS. THE COURSE WILL PROVIDE THE STUDENT WITH THE SKILLS NECESSARY FOR SELF-DIRECTED AND AUTONOMOUS STUDY, ENABLING HIM OR HER TO FIND INDIVIDUAL PATHWAYS TO ADDRESS THE COMPLEX AND MULTIDISCIPLINARY PROBLEMS OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONTAMINATION, MOTOR SPORTS CONTEXTS, AND ATHLETE WELLNESS. |

THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE IS CERTIFIED BY PASSING AN EXAM WITH ASSESSMENT IN THIRTIES. THE CHECK INCLUDES A WRITTEN EXAM, WHICH THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO TAKE THE ORAL EXAM THAT TAKES PLACE IN A FOLLOWING DAY. THE WRITTEN TEST CONSISTS OF A MULTIPLE ANSWER TEST ON TOPICS FROM THE TEACHING PROGRAM. THE WRITTEN TEST NORMALLY HAS A DURATION NOT LESS THAN 30 MINUTES AND IS AIMED AT VERIFYING THE ABILITY TO CORRECTLY APPLY THE THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE, UNDERSTANDING THE PROBLEMS PROPOSED AND WILL BE CONSIDERED TO BE EXCEEDED WITH THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE MINIMUM SCORE. DURING THE TEST IT IS NOT ALLOWED TO CONSULT TEXTS OR USE A PC OR SMART PHONE; IT IS ALLOWED TO USE THE CALCULATOR AND THE PERIODIC TABLE THE ORAL TEST CONSISTS OF AN INTERVIEW WITH QUESTIONS AND DISCUSSION ON THE THEORETICAL CONTENT INDICATED IN THE COURSE PROGRAM AND IS AIMED AT ASKING THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING REACHED BY THE STUDENT, AS WELL AS VERIFYING THE ABILITY OF EXPOSURE ABILITY OF AUTONOMOUS ORGANIZATION OF EXPOSURE ON THE SAME TOPICS WITH THEORETICAL CONTENT. |
