Objectives
THE FORMATIVE OBJECTIVES OF THIS TEACHING ARE AS FOLLOWS:
TO KNOW THE MAIN MOMENTS OF RUSSIAN LITERATURE OF THE XVIII-FIRST HALF OF THE XIX CENTURY THROUGH THE EXAMINATION OF ITS MAJOR EXPONENTS AND THE MAIN LITERARY MOVEMENTS

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
THE STUDENT:
-WILL KNOW THE MOST RELEVANT MOMENTS OF THE RUSSIAN LITERARY EVOLUTION BETWEEN THE XVIII AND THE FIRST HALF OF THE XIX CENTURY AND ITS MAIN REPRESENTATIVES;
-WILL ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE HISTORICAL, GEOGRAPHICAL AND CULTURAL CONTEXT OF REFERENCE;
-WILL UNDERSTAND THE CLOSE INTERWEAVING BETWEEN THE DIFFERENT DIMENSIONS OF POLITICAL, CULTURAL AND LITERARY HISTORY OF THE RUSSIAN SPACE;
-WILL APPROACH THE HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN RUSSIA AND EUROPE IN MODERN AGE.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
-ELABORATE ORIGINAL APPROACHES AND INTUTIONS IN THE ANALYSIS OF THE HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL CHARACTERS THAT REPRESENT THE SPECIFICITY OF THE RUSSIAN SPACE;
-UNDERSTAND PHYSICAL AND POLITICAL MAPS REFLECTING THE VARIOUS PHASES OF RUSSIAN HISTORY, FROM THE MIDDLE AGES UP TO THE MODERN AGES.
-EXAMINE WITH COMPETENCE THE LITERARY SOURCES RELATED TO THE RUSSIAN TRADITION OF THE EIGHTEENTH-FIRST HALF OF THE XIX CENTURY;
-RESOLVE AND TRANSLATE WITH CRITICAL AWARENESS THE ASSESSMENT OF THE THEMES AFFECTED IN THE GENERAL FRAMEWORK OF CULTURAL RELATIONS BETWEEN RUSSIA AND EUROPE.

MAKING JUDGEMENTS
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
-CRITICALLY SELECT BIBLIOGRAPHIC AND LITERARY SOURCES;
-FORMULATE HYPOTHESES, RECOGNIZE LOGICAL CONNECTIONS, ARGUE, COMPARE AND EVALUATE LITERARY TEXTS RELATED TO THE PERIOD COVERED BY THE COURSE;
-PLACE AND CONSIDER LITERARY PHENOMENA IN RELATION TO THE CULTURAL CONTEXT OF REFERENCE AS WELL AS TO THEIR TEMPORAL EVOLUTION.

THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
-HAVE CONVERSATIONS ON MULTIPLE THEMES SHOWING A GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF THE ISSUES RELATED TO THE HISTORY OF RUSSIAN LITERATURE;

THE COURSE INCLUDES 54 HOURS OF CLASSROOM TEACHING (NO OBLIGATION TO ATTEND).
DURING THE LESSONS WE WILL DEAL WITH THEORETICAL ISSUES THAT WILL BE ILLUSTRATED THROUGH THE READING AND COMMENTARY OF LITERARY AND CRITICAL TEXTS.

Verification of learning
THE STUDENT WILL BE EVALUATED DURING THE FINAL EXAMINATION WHICH WILL BE HELD AT THE EXAMINATION DATES SCHEDULED BY THE DEPARTMENT. THE STUDENT WILL BE REQUIRED TO TAKE AN ORAL EXAMINATION.
