Objectives
THE COURSE AIM IS GIVING THE STUDENT THE ABILITY TO INDEPENDENTLY DEVELOP MEASUREMENT SYSTEMS BASED ON DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING, WITH REFERENCE BOTH TO THE DIFFERENT HARDWARE ARCHITECTURES AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE MEASUREMENT SOFTWARE.
Prerequisites
KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE USE OF MEASURING INSTRUMENTS, THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ALGORITHMS AND DATA MANAGEMENT
Contents
ARCHITECTURE OF REAL TIME MEASUREMENT SYSTEMS.
HARDWARE FOR REAL TIME MEASUREMENT SYSTEMS
ALGORITHMS FOR SIGNAL PROCESSING IN REAL-TIME
METROLOGICAL CHARACTERIZATION OF THE MEASUREMENT SOFTWARE.
PROPAGATION OF UNCERTAINTY IN THE SIGNAL PROCESSING ALGORITHMS.
REALIZATION OF A REAL TIME MEASUREMENT SYSTEM
Teaching Methods

THE COURSE INCLUDES LECTURES AND LABORATORY EXERCISES. DURING THE FIRST LABORATORY LESSIONS, THE STUDENTS ARE ASKED TO SOLVE PROBLEMS INVOLVING THE APPLICATION OF THE TECHNIQUES EXPLAINED IN CLASS. IN LAST PART OF COURSE, THE STUDENTS, DIVIDED INTO WORKING GROUPS, HAVE TO REALIZE A REAL TIME MEASUREMENT SYSTEM.
Verification of learning
ORAL EXAMINATION, WHICH INCLUDES DISCUSSION OF THE REALIZED MEASUREMENT SYSTEM.
