KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: KNOWLEDGE OF THE MAIN HISTORICAL CONCEPTS, UNDERSTANDING OF HISTORICAL ORIGINS OF PUBLIC AND PRIVATE INSTITUTIONS IN THE MODERN EUROPE.
ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: ABILITY TO ANALYSE HISTORICAL EVENTS, MAKING OBSERVATIONS AND SUSTAINING ARGUMENTS.
AUTONOMY OF JUDGEMENT: ABILITY TO INTERPRET HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENTS, TO INFORM CRITICAL JUDGEMENTS AND REFLECTION.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE, USING APPROPRIATE LANGUAGE AND TERMINOLOGY, INFORMATION, IDEAS, PROBLEMS TO DIFFERENT KINDS OF AUDIENCE, SPECIALIST ONE AND NON SPECIALIST ONE.

THE COURSE AIMS TO CRITICALLY ANALYZE THE PROCESS OF STATE-BUILDING IN EUROPE, THE STRUCTURING OF INSTITUTIONAL, ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL MODELS, THAT IN THE MODERN AGE HAVE CREATED THE COMPLEX IDENTITY OF THE WESTERN WORLD. THE FOCUS WILL BE ON THE THEORIES OF GOVERNMENT, ADMINISTRATIVE STRATEGIES, OPERATING MODELS ADOPTED TO REGULATE THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE CITIZEN AND THE STATE, THE OBSERVANCE OF RIGHTS AND DUTIES, THE SOCIO-ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT.
