THE TEACHING AIMS TO ENCOURAGE REFLECTION ON THE POLITICAL, INSTITUTIONAL, SOCIO-ECONOMIC, CULTURAL AND RELIGIOUS ASPECTS THAT HAVE CHARACTERIZED THE HISTORY OF SOUTHERN ITALY BEFORE THE ITALIAN UNIFICATION, IN A CONTEXT OF CONTEXTUALIZATION AND COMPARISON WITH THE EUROPEAN HISTORY. EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES: - KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: TO KNOW THE HISTORICAL METHODS OF ANALYSIS OF THE PECULIARITIES OF THE SOUTHERN ITALIAN TERRITORY AS A PART OF NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL DIMENSION, ALSO WITH A VIEW TO ASSESSING THE CRITICAL ASPECTS, FROM A LONG-TERM PERSPECTIVE, OF THE HISTORY OF SOUTHERN ITALY. - ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: TO KNOW HOW TO INTEGRATE THE PECULIAR ASPECTS OF TODAY’S ITALIAN SOUTHERN SOCIETY, INCLUDING THOSE THAT INVOLVE PROCESSES OF MARGINALIZATION AND EXCLUSION, WITHIN THE WIDER HISTORY OF SOUTHERN ITALY. |

IN THE CONTEXT OF THE EDUCATIONAL OFFER, THIS TEACHING AIMS TO LEAD STUDENTS TO CRITICAL REFLECTION ON THE POLITICAL, INSTITUTIONAL, SOCIO-ECONOMIC, CULTURAL AND RELIGIOUS ASPECTS THAT HAVE CHARACTERIZED THE HISTORY OF SOUTHERN ITALY. THE COURSE AIMS TO ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS, SUITABLE FOR UNDERTAKING THE EDUCATIONAL PROFESSIONS WITH THE POSSESSION OF A SOLID CULTURE AND INTERPRETATIVE SKILLS. THE TEACHING METHODS ADOPTED PROMOTE THIS PROCESS, THROUGH THE INTEGRATION OF DIFFERENT ACTIONS: LECTURES ON MAIN TOPICS, SUPPORTED BY THE USE OF MASS-MEDIA TOOLS, FOLLOWED BY DISCUSSION WITH STUDENTS ON THE TEACHING USE OF THE CONTENTS; READING AND CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF SHORT DOCUMENTS REPRESENTING IMPORTANT HISTORICAL EVENTS. |

FINAL ORAL EXAMINATION VERIFIES OBJECTIVES ABOUT KNOWLEDGE, CORRECT LANGUAGE, CRITICAL CAPACITIES. IT CONSISTS OF QUESTIONS ON THE SUBJECTS SUBMITTED DURING THE LESSONS AND REPERIBLE IN THE PRESCRIPTED BOOKS. IT CHECKS THE LEARNING OF THE CONTENTS, THE DISCUSSION CAPACITY, THE APPROPRIATE LANGUAGE, THE POSSESS OF CONCEPTS AND CONNEXIONS. |
