Research Activities:
In his career, prof. Del Gaudio has dealt with topics related to the pharmaceutical technologies filed and the controlling delivery and targeting of drugs, as the development of new technologies for drug delivery, or the development of new bioactive materials, as well as the design and development of drug delivery systems and controlled release of biomolecules. His scientific activities can be mainly reconducted to:
- Polymeric microcarriers for controlled delivery of drugs and phytotherapics with low bioavailability.
- Design of modified release dosage forms obtained by micro-nanoencapsulation processes based on vibrating micrometric nozzles
- Supercritical fluids based technologies for the development of new bioactive materials for controlled delivery of drugs
- Design and development of polysaccharide bioaerogels and hydrogels for wound healing and tissue regeneration.
Professor Del Gaudio is the author of 60 publications (H-index 23, total citations about 1263) on the most prestigious international journals and more than 70 communications at conferences, of which 20 including plenary readings and oral communications by invitation.
prof. Del Gaudio has been an evaluator for AIFA of chemical-pharmaceutical modules of the dossiers relating to the authorization practices for the marketing of medicines, both with national and mutual recognition procedures with Italian origin
prof. Del Gaudio is a referee of several journals with international circulation and high scientific impact (i.e. Carbohydrate Polymers, International Journal of Pharmaceutics, Journal of Controlled Release, Journal of Pharmaceutical Science, Biomaterial, Polymers)
Professor Del Gaudio is Research Grant Reviewer for several projects of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action and is a member of prestigious academies in the Pharmaceutical Technological and Drug Delivery field:
