KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: STUDENTS MUST HAVE ACQUIRED BASICS IN PHARMACEUTICAL DOSAGE SYSTEMS AND ROUTES OF ADMINISTRATION; IN PHARMACOKINETIC MODEL OF STUDY; IN DRUG TRANSPORT PHENOMENA; IN TESTING IN–VITRO DEVICES. MOREOVER, THEY MUST HAVE ACQUIRED FUNDAMENTALS ON GENERALIZED BALANCE EQUATIONS AND FIELD EQUATIONS; MICROSCOPIC (DIFFERENTIAL) AND MACROSCOPIC (INTEGRAL) BALANCES; APPROACHES TO PROBLEM RESOLUTION; SCALE UP METHODS BASED ON DIMENSIONAL ANALYSIS AND SIMILARITIES: DIMENSIONAL ANALYSIS OF BALANCE EQUATION; DIMENSIONLESS NUMBERS; TRANSPORT WITH MORE THAN ONE INDEPENDENT VARIABLES. APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: STUDENTS MUST HAVE ACQUIRED A CRITICAL APPROACH TO INDIVIDUATE AND TO EVALUATE THE MAIN PHENOMENA INVOLVED IN PHARMACEUTICALS ADMINISTRATIONS IN HUMAN BODY (ALSO BY IN VITRO TESTS), AND IN TURNS TO EVALUATE THE MAIN ISSUES IN INVOLVED PHARMACEUTICALS PREPARATIONS. MAKING JUDGMENTS: STUDENTS THEY MUST HAVE ACQUIRED CAPABILITY TO MAKE USE OF THE RESULTS OF SPECIFIC TRANSPORT PROPERTY MEASUREMENTS TO PREDICT THE BEHAVIOR OF PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCTS. COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS: STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO PRESENT THE MOST RELEVANT ASPECTS OF TRANSPORT PHENOMENA INVOLVED IN PHARMACEUTICAL PROCESSES, FROM MATHEMATICAL DESCRIPTION OF PHENOMENA, TO DISCUSSION OF INITIAL AND BOUNDARY CONDITIONS, UP TO SOLUTION FORMS. THE ACQUIRED COMMUNICATION SKILLS WILL ALLOW THE STUDENT TO INTERACT WITH OTHER PROFESSIONALS OF DIFFERENT BACKGROUND, FROM TECHNOLOGISTS AND SCIENTISTS TO PRODUCTION MANAGERS. LEARNING SKILLS: STUDENTS MUST KNOW HOW TO APPLY THE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE IN CONTEXTS EVEN DIFFERENT THAN THE ONES PRESENTED DURING THE COURSE AND TO BE ABLE TO DEEPEN THE TOPICS DEALT WITH WITHIN THE COURSE. |

THE LEARNING ASSESSMENT PROCESS REQUIRES A WRITTEN TEST AND AN ORAL TEST. THE WRITTEN TEST HAS A DURATION OF TWO HOURS AND CONSISTS IN DESCRIPTIVE (DEFINITIONS) AND CALCULATIVE QUESTIONS. THE ORAL TEST IS MADE BY QUESTIONS ON A TOPIC ANALYZED DURING THE TEACHING; THE AVERAGE DURATION STARTS FROM TWENTY MINUTES (IF THE ANSWERS ARE GIVEN RAPIDLY AND CORRECTLY), UP TO ONE HOUR IF THE CANDIDATE IS NOT SURE IN HIS/HER ANSWERS AND TAKES TIME TO GIVE THE ANSWERS. THE SUFFICIENCY IS ACHIEVED IF THE CANDIDATE DEMONSTRATES THE ABILITY TO DESCRIBE THE BASIC CONCEPTS OF TRANSPORT PHENOMENA. THE EXCELLENCE IS OBTAINED WHEN THE CANDIDATE IS ABLE TO FACE OUT SUCCESSFULLY EVEN ASPECTS OF THE TOPIC NOT ANALYZED DURING THE COURSE. THE OVERALL EVALUATION DEPENDS FROM THE LEVEL OF EXPOSITION AND FROM THE CONFIDENCE SHOWN WITH THE TEACHING’S TOPICS. |
