Objectives
PROVIDE KNOWLEDGE ON:
- SOIL-PLANT INTERACTIONS AIMED AT THE POSSIBILITY OF USING PLANTS AND RHIZOSPHER MICROORGANISMS FOR THE DECONTAMINATION OF SOIL, WATER AND AIR.
- BASIC CONCEPTS ON THE BIODIVERSITY OF LIVING ORGANISMS EVEN IN CONNECTION WITH EVOLUTIONARY PROCESSES,TO ENSURE THAT THE STUDENT IS ABLE TO ELABORATE AND APPLY IDEAS IN A CONTEXT OF THE RESEARCH TIGHTLY LINKED TO PHYTOREMEDIATION AND TO BIODIVERSITY OF LIVING BEINGS.
SOLVE PROBLEMS RELATED TO ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION OF SOIL, WATER AND AIR THAT CONSIDER THE INTEGRATION OF MULTIFACTORIAL AND INTERDISCIPLINARY SKILLS RELATIVELY TO BIODIVERSITY AND PHYTOREMEDIATION.
INTEGRATING KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED DURING THE COURSE OF APPLIED BIOLOGY AND BIODIVERSITY WITH THOSE OF PREVIOUS REFERRED TO VARIOUS AREAS OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO MANAGE THE COMPLEXITY OF THE ISSUES INVOLVED AND GIVE ADEQUATE SOLUTIONS EVEN IN SOME CASES CONSIDERING EVEN PARTIAL AND INCOMPLETE DATA.
STUDENTS MUST BE IN A POSITION, AT THE END OF THE COURSE, OF DRAWING CONCLUSIONS AND GIVING POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEMS PRESENTED THEM ON THE BASIS OF THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED AND DEVELOPED, POSSIBLY IN AUTONOMY, AND THEN TO COMMUNICATE THEM TO AND SPECIALISTS AND NOT, WITH THE GOAL OF MAXIMUM MAXIMUM SIMPLICITY AND RATIONALITY.
STUDY AND DEAL WITH THE MAXIMUM AUTONOMY ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS AND QUESTIONS INVOLVING PROCESSES FOR CLEANING OF SOIL, WATER AND AIR THROUGH THE MODERN TECHNOLOGY OF THE PHYTOREMEDIATION LINKING IT TO INTRINSIC POTENTIAL RELATED TO BIODIVERSITY OF LIVING ORGANISMS.
Prerequisites
BASIC NOTIONS OF BOTANY, MICROBIOLOGY, GENETICS, MOLECULAR BIOLOGY, COMPUTER SCIENCE, ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY FURNISHED TO THE STUDENTS DURING THE THREE YEARS COURSE OF VCA AND OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE.
Contents
THE COURSE AIMS TO COMBINE A SOLID THEORETICAL BASIS OF THE TOPICS COVERED BY THE COURSE OF STUDIES ON THE APPLIED BIOLOGY AND BIODIVERSITY OF LIVING ORGANISMS, INCLUDING THROUGH RECENT READING OF SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE A SERIES OF PRACTICAL ACTIVITIES SUCH AS: SCREENING OF GENOTYPES PARTICULARLY OF PLANT SPECIES TOLERANT TO POLLUTANTS, THE STUDY OF THE BIODIVERSITY OF PLANT GENOTYPES TESTED FOR PHYTOREMEDIATION, THE ISOLATION OF SOIL MICROORGANISMS FROM SOIL POLLUTED BY INORGANIC AND / OR ORGANIC AND BIOMOLECULAR BASIS OF THEIR PHYLOGENETIC CLASSIFICATION.
Teaching Methods
CLASSES WILL BE HELD BUT ALSO READINGS OF ORIGINAL SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES RELATED ISSUES ADDRESSED BY COURSE OF STUDY ALSO IN ENGLISH; LABORATORY ACTIVITIES AND EDUCATIONAL VISITS TO NATURAL AND SEMI-NATURAL AREAS IN ORDER TO ILLUSTRATE, IN PERSON, THE ISSUES RAISED DURING THE COURSE OF STUDIES RELATIVE TO THE BIODIVERSITY OF LIVING ORGANISMS.
Verification of learning
ORAL TESTS INTERMEDIATE, AND AT END COURSE, THROUGH ILLUSTRATION BY MEANS OF MULTIMEDIA PRESENTATION OF A ENVIRONMENTAL REHABILITATION AND RECLAMATION PROJECT OF CONTAMINATED SITES, AND OF ORIGINAL SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES WRITTEN IN ENGLISH, CHOSEN BY STUDENTS IN AUTONOMY, RELATED TO THE ISSUES ADDRESSED DURING THE COURSE OF STUDY (PHYTOREMEDIATION AND BIODIVERSITY OF LIVING BEINGS), POSSIBLY RELATED TO THE TOPICS PROPOSED IN THE RECLAMATION PROJECT. THE EVALUATION OF THE STUDENT EXAMINATION WILL BE CARRIED COLLEGIALLY IN THE PRESENCE OF ALL MEMBERS OF THE EXAMINATION BOARD.IT WILL GIVE PRIORITY TO THE ORGANIZATION AND SETTING ABILITY OF THE THE RECLAMATION PROJECT, ALSO TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE CAPACITY OF SYNTHESIS AND EXPOSITION RELATIVE TO THE PRESENTATION OF THE SUBJECT MATTER OF THE COURSE OF STUDY.
