Objectives
A: I. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE THEMES PROPOSED IN THE COURSE: ANALYSIS OF THE FUNDAMENTAL MOMENTS IN THE HISTORY OF AESTHETIC REFLECTION, IDENTIFIED AS THE AREA OF DEVELOPMENT OF A COGNITIVE PROCESS LINKED TO THE UNDERSTANDING AND CRITICAL EVALUATION OF THE SENSITIVE DIMENSION OF EXPERIENCE (PHILOSOPHIES OF PERCEPTION) AND THEREFORE OF THE ARTISTIC PHENOMENON AS ITS EXEMPLARY MOMENT (PHILOSOPHIES AND THEORIES OF THE ARTS).
II. ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: THE STUDENT WILL APPLY THE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE TO PARTICULAR CASES RELATED TO THE ARTISTIC PRODUCTION OF THE PERIOD UNDER EXAMINATION.
B. I. MODULE A WILL BE DEDICATED TO READING AND UNDERSTANDING A FUNDAMENTAL TEXT IN THE HISTORY OF MODERN AESTHETICS: I. KANT, CRITIQUE OF JUDGMENT. IN PARTICULAR, THE COURSE WILL FOCUS ON "ANALYTICS OF BEAUTY" AND "ANALYTICS OF THE SUBLIME".
MODULE B WILL BE DEDICATED TO READING AND UNDERSTANDING AN IMPORTANT CONTEMPORARY INTERPRETATION OF E.KANT'S CRITIQUE OF JUDGEMENTAL ABILITY. WE WILL DEAL WITH THE DERRIDIAN READING OF KANT'S WORK IN J. DERRIDA, THE TRUTH IN PAINTING.
Teaching Methods
THE CLASS AIMS TO GIVE THE NECESSARY CRITICAL TOOLS TO UNDERSTAND TEXTS AND SUBJECTS PURPOSED IN THEIR HISTORICAL CONTEXT.
Verification of learning
THE TEST CONSISTS OF AN ORAL EXAMINATION TO VERIFY THE STUDENT'S PREPARATION AND SUITABILITY TO USE THE SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE OF THE SUBJECT IN THE FIELD OF THE HISTORY OF AESTHETIC DOCTRINES. DURING THE INTERVIEW THE ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE CLEARLY AND UNAMBIGUOUSLY THE CONTENT AND METHODOLOGICAL KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED WILL BE ASSESSED.
