Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO DEEPEN A THEME, OR AN AUTHOR, OR A WORK OF THE HISTORY OF AESTHETIC REFLECTION AS RESEARCH AIMED AT UNDERSTANDING THE SENSITIVE DIMENSION OF EXPERIENCE AND THE ARTISTIC PHENOMENON AS ITS EXEMPLARY ARTICULATION.





KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
THE STUDENT WILL:
- WILL KNOW A THEME, OR AN AUTHOR, OR A WORK OF THE AESTHETIC TRADITION THROUGH THE READING OF SPECIFIC TEXTS CONTEXTUALIZED WITHIN THE TRADITION.
- WILL UNDERSTAND THE SPECIFIC ROLE OF THE THEME, AUTHOR, OR WORK COVERED BY THE COURSE IN GENERAL PHILOSOPHICAL REFLECTION.
- WILL UNDERSTAND THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN SPECIFIC TEXTS AND THE TEXTUAL PRODUCTION OF THE PHILOSOPHICAL-CULTURAL CONTEXT.

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- INTERPRET THE FUNDAMENTAL TEXTS OF THE HISTORY OF AESTHETICS IN THE CONTEXT OF MORE GENERAL PHILOSOPHICAL REFLECTION
- COMPARE THE RESULTS OF THE AESTHETIC REFLECTION IN DIFFERENT ERAS
- ELABORATE AUTONOMOUSLY A HISTORICAL-CRITICAL PATH WITHIN THE DISCIPLINE.

THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO :
- CRITICALLY EVALUATE THE CONTENT OF COMPLEX TEXTS.
- DISCERN THE HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL CONTEXTS THAT INFLUENCE A GIVEN TEXTUAL PRODUCTION.
- SELECT CONCEPTUAL AND ARGUMENTATIVE STRUCTURES USEFUL FOR UNDERSTANDING THE CCOMMUNICATION SKILLS: THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:

Contents
THE COURSE WILL BE DEVOTED TO READING, UNDERSTANDING AND INTERPRETING THE THEORETICAL TEXTS THAT THE PHILOSOPHER JACQUES DERRIDA DEVOTED TO THE VISUAL ARTS, FOCUSING ON PHOTOGRAPHY AND FILM. THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE COURSE INCLUDES:
1) AN INTRODUCTION TO JACQUES DERRIDA'S PHILOSOPHY AND AESTHETICS
2) AN ANALYSIS OF HIS CONCEPTION OF VISION
3) AN ANALYSIS OF HIS TREATMENT OF THE PHOTOGRAPHIC AND CINEMATIC IMAGE.
Teaching Methods
THE COURSE DOES NOT INCLUDE AN OBLIGATION TO ATTEND. IT WILL BE CONDUCTED IN LECTURES THAT WILL ESSENTIALLY CONSIST OF READING, COMMENTING AND DISCUSSING OF TEXTS FROM A PERSPECTIVE CONSISTENT WITH THE FORMATIVE OBJECTIVES. IT IS ALSO ENVISAGED THAT SPECIALISTS IN THE SUBJECT MATTER OF THE COURSE WILL BE INVITED TO GIVE LECTURES.
Verification of learning
THE EXAMINATION CONSISTS OF AN ORAL TEST AIMED AT ASSESSING THE STUDENT'S PREPARATION AND ABILITY TO USE SUBJECT-SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE IN THE FIELD OF AESTHETICS. IN THE COURSE OF TALK LASTING APPROXIMATELY 15-20 MINUTES, THE ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE CLEARLY AND UNIVOCALLY THE KNOWLEDGE AND METHODOLOGIES ACQUIRED WILL BE EVALUATED. THE HIGHEST SCORE IS ACHIEVED WHEN THE STUDENT DEMONSTRATES THE ABILITY TO CORRECTLY ILLUSTRATE AND CRITICALLY DISCUSS THE TOPICS COVERED IN THE COURSE.
