Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE AN INTRODUCTORY OVERVIEW OF RISK ANALYSIS AND MANAGEMENT METHODOLOGIES FOR ENGINEERING APPLICATIONS AND TO PROVIDE THE MAIN CONCEPTS FOR THE ANALYSIS, EVALUATION AND MANAGEMENT OF LANDSLIDE RISK.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING.
TO KNOW THE MAIN METHODS OF RISK ANALYSIS AND MANAGEMENT, WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THE THEORY OF LANDSLIDE RISK, AND TO ACQUIRE THE TERMINOLOGY USED IN THE ANALYSIS OF LANDSLIDE SUSCEPTIBILITY, HAZARD AND RISK.

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING.
TO KNOW HOW TO CONDUCT AN ENGINEERING RISK ANALYSIS, TO BE ABLE TO ESTIMATE LANDSLIDE RISK AND TO IDENTIFY APPROPRIATE ACTIONS FOR MITIGATING IT.

AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT.
TO KNOW HOW TO IDENTIFY THE MOST APPROPRIATE METHODS TO ESTIMATE HAZARD AND RISK, AT DIFFERENT SCALES, FOR ENGINEERING SYSTEMS AND PROBLEMS THAT INTERACT WITH STRUCTURES, INFRASTRUCTURE AND HUMAN BEINGS.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS.
TO KNOW HOW TO WORK IN A GROUP AND ORALLY EXPOSE AN ARGUMENT RELATED TO RISK FOR ENGINEERING APPLICATIONS, AND TO LANDSLIDE RISK IN PARTICULAR.

ABILITY TO LEARN.
KNOWING HOW TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED IN CONTEXTS DIFFERENT FROM THOSE PRESENTED DURING THE COURSE, AND TO DEEPEN THE TOPICS COVERED BY USING MATERIALS DIFFERENT FROM THOSE PROPOSED.
