Curriculum

Silvia SINISCALCHI Curriculum

Associate Professor of Geography at the Department of Humanities of the University of Salerno, she obtained the national qualification for the ordinariate during the current academic year. She deals with analysis and teaching of the territory, with particular regard to Historical Cartography and Toponymy, also with the aid of multimedia tools and Geographic Information Systems.

She is a member of the central committee of CISGE (Italian Center for Historical-Geographical Studies), member of the Italian Geographic Society, of the Society of Geographical Studies of Florence, of the Italian Association of Geography Teachers (AIIG) - of which she chairs the regional section Campania - of the Association of Italian Geographers (AGeI), of the Italian Association of Cartography (AIC) and of the Neapolitan and Salerno Societies of Homeland History.
She collaborates on international, national and local research projects, contributing to the organization of conferences and cartographic exhibitions. Her scientific production mainly includes studies of historical cartography and toponymy, didactics of geography, cartography, historical and cultural geography, geography of health and nutrition.
