GENERAL OBJECTIVE THE COURSE, IN THE LIGHT OF THE CURRENT NATIONAL INDICATIONS REGARDING THE SPECIFIC LEARNING OBJECTIVES CONCERNING THE ACTIVITIES AND TEACHINGS INCLUDED IN THE STUDY PLANS PROVIDED FOR HIGH SCHOOL COURSES AND PROFESSIONAL TECHNICAL INSTITUTES, INTENDS TO PROVIDE METHODOLOGICAL INDICATIONS ON THE TEACHING OF GEOGRAPHY, DEEPENING THEIR OBJECT OF STUDY AND TRAINING PURPOSES, CONCEPTS, METHODS AND TOOLS, WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THE USE OF CARTOGRAPHIC LANGUAGE AND TECHNIQUES OF REPRESENTATION AND INTERPRETATION OF TERRITORIAL PHENOMENA. IN PARTICULAR, THROUGH CASE STUDIES AND DIDACTIC EXAMPLES THAT CAN BE USED IN SCHOOL COURSES, IT WANTS TO SHOW HOW TO DESIGN AND IMPLEMENT A LEARNING UNIT, CONSIDERING GEOGRAPHY A “HINGE” SCIENCE BETWEEN ECONOMIC, LEGAL, ANTHROPOLOGICAL, SCIENTIFIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL THEMES, PUT INTO THE AGENDA 2030 FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF ONU. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE REGARDING: - EVOLUTION OF THE TEACHING OF GEOGRAPHY IN THE NATIONAL SCHOOL SYSTEM - OBJECT OF THE DISCIPLINE THROUGH THE MINISTERIAL PROGRAMS - CONCEPTS, SYSTEMS, TOOLS OF GEOGRAPHICAL ANALYSIS - GEOGRAPHY AT SCHOOL. METHODS, TECHNIQUES, STRATEGIES - APPLICATION AND DIDACTIC TOOLS OF CONTEMPORARY GEOGRAPHY - GEOGRAPHICAL TEACHING AND MASS MEDIA -THE USE OF GEOTECHNOLOGIES FOR TEACHING ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING THROUGH THE STUDY OF THE DISCIPLINE, THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO: - CONTEXTUALIZE CONTEMPORARY EVENTS IN A GEOGRAPHICAL AND INTERDISCIPLINARY KEY; - MANAGE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF CARTOGRAPHIC AND GRAPHIC REPRESENTATION STARTING FROM THEIR DIFFERENT CONSTRUCTION METHODS AND APPLICATION PURPOSES IN THE FIELD OF RESEARCH AND TEACHING; - DESIGN, ACCORDING TO AN INDUCTIVE CONSTRUCTIVIST PERSPECTIVE, GEOGRAPHICAL LEARNING PATHS BASED ON THE EXPERIENCE AND ACTION RESEARCH OF STUDENTS; - TO CORRELATE THE DISCIPLINARY THEMES WITH PROBLEMS AND PERSPECTIVES OF A CONTEMPORARY NATURE; - DESIGN LEARNING UNITS ON GEOGRAPHIC THEMES AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE THE FOLLOWING TRANSVERSAL SKILLS: - COMPARE IDEAS AND HYPOTHESES WITH RESPECT TO TEACHING AND ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGIES; - DEEPEN AND DISCERN RELEVANT ISSUES WITH RESPECT TO MORE GENERAL PHENOMENA DEALT WITH; - MAKE A SELECTION OF DATA OR SOURCES FOR THE ACHIEVEMENT OF OBJECTIVES ABOUT RESEARCH-DIDACTICS ON GEOGRAPHIC THEMES. COMMUNICATIVE ABILITY THE STUDENT WILL KNOW: - DESIGN A GEOGRAPHIC LEARNING PROCESS IN THE SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT; - PRESENT THE THEMES OF GEOGRAPHY FROM A CONSTRUCTIVIST PERSPECTIVE; - MANAGE THE EDUCATIONAL USE OF DIVERSIFIED SOURCES (DOCUMENTARY, CARTOGRAPHIC, GRAPHIC AND MULTIMEDIA); - MANAGE AND COORDINATE GROUP WORK BY IMPLEMENTING METHODS AND TOOLS OF TODAY'S TEACHING. LEARNING ABILITY THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO: - RESEARCH AND USE TRADITIONAL AND INNOVATIVE TEACHING METHODS AND TOOLS; - USE NEW GEO-CARTOGRAPHIC TOOLS AND SOFTWARE; - KEEP UP-TO-DATE BY INDEPENDENTLY DRAWING ON THE PATRIMONY OF SCIENTIFIC SOURCES (JOURNALS, MONOGRAPHS, CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS, TRAINING COURSES, ETC.). |
Prerequisites | |

Teaching Methods | |
---|---|
1) LECTURES (SUPPORTED BY THE USE OF DOCUMENTARY, CARTOGRAPHIC, GRAPHIC AND PHOTOGRAPHIC TOOLS) AIMED AT GENERAL FRAMING AND DEALING WITH THE TOPICS OF THE COURSE. 2) LABORATORY EXERCISES, RESEARCH AND GROUP WORK FOR IN-DEPTH RELATED TO THE USE OF DIDACTIC METHODOLOGIES |
Verification of learning | |
---|---|
THE EXAMINATION REQUIRES AN ENDING TEST, INCLUDING THE PRESENTATION OF A PROJECT WORK, DRAWN UP DURING THE COURSE, WITH WHICH STUDENTS MUST DEMONSTRATE THAT THEY HAVE ACQUIRED CRITICALLY THE MAIN DISCIPLINARY CONTENTS AND TO KNOW HOW TO APPLY THEM IN RELATION TO THE GEOGRAPHY TEACHING. MORE PRECISELY, THEY WILL HAVE TO PROVE OF: - TO HAVE MASTERING THE DISCIPLINARY CONTENT, IN THE DIFFERENT SCALES. - TO KNOW USE THE INSTRUMENTS OF THE DISCIPLINE (TECHNICAL MAPS, DATA, DIAGRAMS AND THEMATIC MAPS). -STRUCTURING TRAINING MODULES WITH REFERENCE TO OBJECTIVES, CONTENTS, TEACHING METHODS, INSTRUMENTATION, EXERCISES AND VERIFICATION TESTS. |
