Giovanni VIGLIOTTA Curriculum

prof. Giovanni Vigliotta graduated in Biological Sciences, summa cum laude, at the University of Naples Federico II. He is currently an associate professor of General Microbiology, SSD BIO19, at the University of Salerno, where he teaches several courses for the Degree Course in Biology and in Environmental Sciences, and the PhD in Chemical, Biological and Environmental Sciences. Scientific interests of prof. Vigliotta concern various aspects of microbiology: bioremediation of contaminated areas and study of microbial communities in water and soil; characterization of new microorganisms of biotechnological interest; mechanisms of regulation of antibiotic production in actinomycetes; testing of bioactive polymeric matrices; mechanisms of pathogenicity.
