Dr. Giovanni Vigliotta has achieved a degree in Biological Sciences, summa cum laude, at the University of Napoli Federico II. He is currently a researcher in General Microbiology, SSD BIO19, at the University of Salerno, where he held various teaching activities and the Microbiology module for the course of Biochemistry and microbiology, degree in Evaluation and Environmental Control. He is a member of the Doctorate in Systems biology at the University of Salerno. The scientific interests of Dr. Vigliotta have focused on various aspects of microbiology: microbial communities associated with rhizosphere and other matrices (food, soil, etc..); signals that regulate antibiotic production in actinomycetes; testing of new polymeric matrices able to regulate cellular activities; isolation of microorganisms potentially useful for the bioremediation; mechanisms of pathogenicity.
