Objectives
THE PURPOSE OF THE COURSE IS TO OFFER STUDENTS A COHERENT PROGRAM OF STUDY IN THE DISCIPLINE, PROVIDING SUFFICIENT COVERAGE OF SELECTED INTERNATIONAL ACCOUNTING STANDARDS.

THE COURSE DEALS WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF STUDENTS’ SKILLS OF READING, ANALYSING AND EVALUATING AN ENTITY’S FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AND KNOWLEDGE OF ISSUES RELATING TO RECOGNITION, MEASUREMENT, PRESENTATION AND DISCLOSURE INHERENT IN THE STANDARDS. ALSO THE CONVERGENCE PROCESS BETWEEN IASB AND FASB WILL BE INVESTIGATED.

4) THE IASB CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK AND ACCOUNTING THEORY (2 HOURS)
5) ACCOUNTING AND ECONOMIC PERSPECTIVES ON INCOME AND CAPITAL (2 HOURS)
6) CURRENT VALUES, MIXED VALUES MEASUREMENT (2 HOUR)
7) FAIR VALUE, VALUE IN USE AND FULFILMENT VALUE (2 HOUR)
8) PRESENTATIONS AND DISCLOSURE IN PUBLISHED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS (1 HOURS)

Teaching Methods
THE COURSE IS DIVIDED IN 30H OF LESSONS (20 H. OF TRADITIONAL LESSONS), AND 10H OF EXERCISES.
STUDENTS ARE FREE TO FOLLOW THE COURSE, EVEN IF PARTICIPATING IN THE LESSONS IS COMPULSORY.
Verification of learning
THE FINAL EVALUATION IS MARKED AS 30/30°. THE EXAM INCLUDES A WRITTEN EXAMS. THE MINIMUM EVALUATION IS 18/30. THE WRITTEN EXAMS (IN THE FORM OF MULTIPLE CHOICE TEST AND OPEN QUESTIONS)TAKES GENERALLY 60 MINUTES AND IT AIMS TO VERIFY THE STUDENT’S ABILITIES IN APPLYING THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED ALONG THE COURSE. THE STUDENT MAY ALSO WORK ON A PROJECT WORK.
