THE COURSE WILL ILLUSTRATE THE MAIN WATER SYSTEMS SHOWING ITS FUNCTIONS, INDICATING THE MAIN ELEMENTS AND THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN THEM. WORKS OF DERIVATION, ADDUCTION AND WATER DISTRIBUTION AND DRAINAGE WORKS WILL BE DESCRIBED, AS WELL AS WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANTS AND TREATMENT AND DISPOSAL OF SOLID WASTE. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: ABILITY TO IDENTIFY THE DIFFERENT COMPONENTS OF A WATER SYSTEM AND HOW IT WORKS. ACQUISITION OF KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE PRINCIPLES AND MECHANISMS OF THE PROCESSES OF PURIFICATION AND TREATMENT UNITS. LANGUAGE ACQUISITION USEFUL TO UNDERSTAND THE ORGANIZATION AND FACILITIES OF THE SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT. APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: SET UP AND DESIGN OF THE HYDRAULIC WORKS. IDENTIFY THE OPTIMUM MANAGEMENT OF A WATER SYSTEM. ACQUISITION OF KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE METHODOLOGIES USEFUL FOR THE DESIGN OF WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANTS OF CIVIL WASTE WATER. MAKING JUDGEMENTS BEING ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE PROPER STEPS NEEDED FOR A STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT OF WATER RESOURCES AIMED AT ITS PRESERVATION. BEING ABLE TO EVALUATE HYDRAULIC I NTERVENTIONS OF PROTECTION TO DEFENSE AND ENVIRONMENTAL RESTORATION OF THE AREA. BEING ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE MOST APPROPRIATE SOLUTIONS FOR THE DESIGN OF WATER TREATMENT PLANTS OF URBAN WASTE WATER. LEARN THE INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT OF MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE. COMUNICATION SKILLS: ABILITY TO EXPOSE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF A PROJECT HIGHLIGHTING THE FUNCTIONAL LINKS BETWEEN THE VARIOUS COMPONENTS. BEING ABLE TO WORK IN GROUPS AND PRESENT ORALLY A SUBJECT RELATED TO THE TOPICS COVERED DURING THE COURSE. LEARNING SKILLS: BEING ABLE TO APPLY THE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE TO DIFFERENT CONTEXTS FROM THOSE PRESENTED DURING THE COURSE AND INVESTIGATE THE TOPICS USING MATERIALS OTHER THAN THOSE PROPOSED. |

THE COURSE COVERS LECTURES, CLASSROOM EXERCISES AND PRACTICAL EXERCISES IN THE LABORATORIES OF THE DEPARTMENT. AS PART OF THE EXERCISES IN THE LAB OF CALCULATION, THE STUDENTS, IN SMALL GROUPS, WILL ADDRESS THE DESIGN OF SOME HYDRAULIC WORKS. THE COURSE WILL ALSO COVER VISITS TO THE LABORATORY OF HYDRAULIC AND THE LABORATORY OF SANITARY ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER AND TECHNICAL VISITS TO WATER SYSTEMS AND SANITARY ANVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING SYSTEM (TREATMENT PLANTS, LANDFILLS, ETC.) IN THE AREA. |
Verification of learning | |
---|---|
SINCE IT IS AN INTEGRATED COURSE, THE ACHIEVEMENT WILL BE ASSESSED BY A WRITTEN TEST IN HYDRAULIC ENGINEERING AND AN ORAL EXAM IN TREATMENTMENT PLANTS. IN ORDER TO PASS THE STUDENT MUST SHOW KNOWLEDGE AND APPLICATION CAPABILITY OF THE MAIN TOPICS EXPLAINED. THE MARK, OUT OF THIRTY, POSSIBLY WITH LODE, DEPENDS ON THE MATURITY ACQUIRED ON THE CONTENTS OF THE COURSE, TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE QUALITY OF WRITTEN AND ORAL EXAM AND THE MAKING JUDGMENT DEMONSTRATED |
