Objectives
THE COURSE SUPPORTS AND ENHANCES PREVIOUSLY ACQUIRED SKILLS. IT IS DESIGNED TO FURTHER DEVELOP THE STUDENTS’ KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF FRENCH LITERATURE, PROVIDING THEM WITH OPPORTUNITIES TO GAIN DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF LITERARY PHENOMENA AND THEIR SOCIAL AND CULTURAL IMPLICATIONS. THROUGH THE STUDY OF DIFFERENT CRITICAL APPROACHES, STUDENTS APPLY THE KNOWLEDGE OF LITERATURE TO THE ANALYSIS OF SOCIAL AND POLITICAL EVENTS IN FRENCH SOCIETY.
Prerequisites
FRENCH LITERATURE IV: STUDENTS MUST HAVE PASSED THE FOLLOWING EXAMS: FRENCH LITERATURE 1, 2, 3; AND FRENCH LANGUAGE 1, 2, 3.
Contents
THE AIM OF THIS COURSE IS TO ANALYSE BALZAC’S DIPTYCH LES PARENTS PAUVRES (LA COUSINE BETTE ; LE COUSIN PONS), THEIR THEMES, THEIR STRUCTURE, THEIR ANALOGIES AND DIFFERENCES.
Teaching Methods
TEACHER-LED CLASSES (45 HOURS). ACTIVE LECTURE, INTERACTIVE LESSONS, COLLABORATIVE AND COOPERATIVE TASKS.
Verification of learning
ALL THE STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED FLUENCY IN THE EXPOSITION OF SPECIFIC CONCEPTS, ABILITY OF ORGANIZING A COMPLEX SPEECH ABOUT PROBLEMS, AUTHORS AND WORKS DISCUSSED IN THE COURSE AND USE DIFFERENT CRITICAL APPROACHES.
