Maria STRIANESE Curriculum

Maria Strianese graduated in Chemistry at University of Salerno in 2003 (110/110). In april 2007 she defended her Ph.D. at the University of Salerno with a thesis entitled "Phenoxy-imine and phenoxy-amine group 4 metal octahedral complexes as precatalysts for olefins polymerization", with prof. Claudio Pellecchia as supervisor. In 2007 she joined the group of Professor Gerard W. Canters at Leiden Institute of Chemistry (Leiden University, The Netherlands) for a one year position as researcher. While in Leiden she worked in the field of "Redox proteins as fluorescent biosensors". In 2008 she returned to the University of Salerno to take up a position as post-doc in the group of prof. Claudio Pellecchia. Since 2015 she had a position as temporary researcher (L.240/10; A) at the Chemistry and Biology Department of Salerno University. In February 2019 she became temporary researcher (L. 240/10; B). Since 2008 she is also visiting researcher in Leiden because she has a fruitful collaboration with the group of professor Canters. Since february 2022 she is Associate Professor of General and Inorganic Chemistry. In January 2024 she gained the title for getting the position as Full Professor of General and Inorganic Chemistry. Her actual research interests deal with implementation of molecular fluorescent sensors for biologically relevant analytes. Her scientific activity has been published in more than 40 papers on international peer reviewed journals and over 30 communications at international conferences.
