THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH THE TOOLS NECESSARY FOR BASIC KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE EUROPEAN INTEGRATION PROCESS, AND ITS FUNDAMENTAL OBJECTIVES, SUCH AS FREE MOVEMENT, AS WELL AS THE PROTECTION OF COMPETITION. A FURTHER MOMENT OF KNOWLEDGE CONCERNS THE IDENTIFYING ELEMENTS OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF A DIGITAL SINGLE MARKET AND THE IMPACT OF NEW TECHNOLOGIES STUDENTS WILL KNOW AND UNDERSTAND: - THE FUNCTIONING OF THE INSTITUTIONAL SYSTEM OF THE EUROPEAN UNION; - THE PRINCIPLES GOVERNING FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT; - THE PRINCIPLES GOVERNING COMPETITION LAW;- THE ANALYSIS OF THE IDENTIFYING ELEMENTS OF THE DIGITAL SINGLE MARKET. AT THE END OF THE COURSE, STUDENTS WILL HAVE ACQUIRED THE THEORETICAL BASES THAT WILL ALLOW THEM TO: - EXAMINE THE LEGAL SYSTEM OF THE EUROPEAN UNION WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THE IMPLICATIONS IN THE MARKET; - ANALYSE THE LEGAL ACTS AND CASE-LAW OF THE COURT OF JUSTICE OF THE EUROPEAN UNION, INCLUDING WITH CRITICAL TOOLS; - UNDERSTAND THE EVOLUTIONARY OBJECTIVES OF THE EUROPEAN UNION TOWARDS THE DIGITAL MARKET SPACE. THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO: - EVALUATE THE FOUNDATION OF THE EUROPEAN LEGAL SYSTEM AND ITS FUTURE EVOLUTION; - APPLY ANALYTICAL METHODOLOGIES FOR AN IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF THE RELATIONS BETWEEN THE EUROPEAN UNION AND THE MEMBER STATES. THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO: - USE AN APPROPRIATE VOCABULARY IN DISCUSSING ISSUES AND CONCRETE CASES; - COMMUNICATE INFORMATION, PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS TO SPECIALIST AND NON-SPECIALIST INTERLOCUTORS; - REPRESENT AND COMMUNICATE, BY MEANS OF TEXTS OR VIRTUAL TOOLS, THE RESULTS OF OWN RESEARCH AND ELABORATION CONCERNING THE PROCESS OF EUROPEAN INTEGRATION AND ITS MARKET THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO: - DEVELOP SELF-STUDY SKILLS; - USE BIBLIOGRAPHIC TOOLS, DATABASES AND IT RESOURCES FOR THE ANALYSIS OF REGULATORY AND JURISPRUDENTIAL TEXTS; - CARRY OUT RESEARCH ACTIVITIES RELATED TO INSTITUTIONAL AND MATERIAL AREAS OF EUROPEAN UNION LAW. |

THE TEACHING COURSE CONSISTS OF 48 HOURS OF LECTURES AND IT TAKES PLACE IN THE PRIME SEMESTER. PRACTICAL EXERCISES ARE PROVIDED, AS WELL AS SIMULATION GAMES AND SEMINARS OF TRAINING ACTIVITIES. AN INTERACTIVE METHOD WILL BE ADOPTED, IN ORDER TO INCREASE THE INTEREST OF STUDENTS AND TO FOSTER THE CRITICAL ACQUISITION OF CONTENTS. |

FOR THE STUDENTS ATTENDING LECTURES: -GROUP DISCUSSIONS GUIDED BY THE TEACHER, ABOUT THE CONTENTS OF THE COURSE ALSO FOR ENCOURAGING OCCASIONS OF SELF-ASSESSMENT BY STUDENTS THEMSELVES; -THE POSSIBILITY OF UNDERGOING AN ORAL TEST BETWEEN LECTURES ABOUT A PART OF THE PROGRAM WHICH, IN CASE IT RESULTS TO BE POSITIVE, WILL NOT ASSESSED ANYMORE; - FINAL ORAL EXAM, THROUGH QUESTIONS DESIGNED TO TEST KNOWLEDGE OF TEACHING CONTENT. FOR THE STUDENTS NOT ATTENDING LECTURES: - FINAL ORAL EXAM, THROUGH QUESTIONS DESIGNED TO TEST KNOWLEDGE OF TEACHING CONTENT.
